Dear #SeditionHunters - some of you flagged that jan6attack.com individuals and videos pages are down right now. Just want to reassure everyone that the raw data are safe. In general we should now expect more attempts to disrupt the online research community... 1/

because we can see that some reporting has struck a nerve. There are suddenly more website attacks, targeted reporting to remove video (or e.g. shut down our entire YouTube channel). There have been more cases of perps reaching out to interact with Twitter directly... 2/

... or developing elaborate cover stories that appear to respond to posted research. So far no attacks on individuals. So, use a VPN, back up your data, work in a browser dedicated for seditionhunting, and congratulate yourselves that your work has a national impact. 3/

Another thing to watch for is video reposted with cuts, so be careful of video that appears at a different URL than the original, check the length. There are archived versions of pretty much everything people have found, and efforts to get it all up on archive.org. 4/

So an update to reassure #SeditionHunters again: please be assured that your tremendously valuable work is not lost. It exists in the database; it is just not served up conveniently on a website right now. We will find a secure solution to hosting and rebuild, and quickly. 5/

To understand how valuable this work is, read the discovery for Arthur Jackman aka #FashProShop. Here are the first 2 pages listing video evidence that DOJ is using, with items DIRECTLY provided by #SeditionHunters in yellow. 6/

Yellow are DIRECT uses of Tweeted clips or compilation reels of video found by many. White are public videos that may still be FOUND by SeditionHunters. Here are the next 2 pages; I marked blue here for Parler from the ProPublica site which is also a citizen effort. 7/

The next 3.5 pages are short clips, no sources; many likely from surveillance cams. The list also gives clues about the investigation - capitolhunters & Nabert listings on 1st page likely relate to work in March tracking PBs moving from W to E sides. 8/

Many listings relate to #SeditionHunters work tracking #JoeBiggs, who meets up with #FashProShop. Even tho we never did a dedicated reel on Jackman himself, DOJ is using video related to finding Biggs on both sides, his reel, & multiple sync'd videos. 9/

Those lists tell you it's not just the many IDs from the #SeditionHunters community that matter, it's ALL of the crowdsourced wisdom - finding video, tracking perps, understanding action on Jan 6. This is what is prompting attacks now. And this is why we need to continue. 10/

As attacks are likely to continue, some more recommendations. Perps are now trying to engage on Twitter - for example Thomas Speciale had a full-on freakout last night and frantically tweeted past 3 AM. It's best not to engage IMHO. FBI are better interrogators than we are. 11/

If anyone is directly contacted (DMs, email etc.) or threatened in any way, call the FBI. Not the tip line, call the Wash. Field Office directly. If you're comfortable, tell me or other hunters you trust, but most important is to notify FBI for safety, & so they can track it. 12/

Safeguard any personal information you have about other hunters - we must all look out for each other. And remember that disruption can be more subtle - trolling to make chaos, or misinformation. We've seen recently offerings of info from new sources that proves to be wrong. 13/

Adding to the "call FBI" rec. in above: maybe @chadloder can give advice on how to handle threats for anyone who doesn't want to talk to law enforcement. People researching extremists have dealt with this for years and can be a resource - let's add to this thread as we learn. 14/
