Have you been wondering what exactly is in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal that just passed the Senate? Keep reading for all of the details. ⬇️
The infrastructure deal is a historic investment in:
- Public transit
- Passenger rail
- Bridge repair
- Clean drinking water
- Clean energy transmission
- Electric vehicles
One in five miles, or 173,000 total miles, of our highways and major roads and 45,000 bridges are in poor condition.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will repair and rebuild our roads and bridges with a focus on climate change mitigation, resilience, equity, and safety.
Over 24,000 buses, 5,000 rail cars, 200 stations, and thousands of miles of track, signals, and power systems in the U.S. need replacement.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal provides $89.9B in guaranteed funding over the next 5 years to repair and modernize our public transit.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal includes:
- Grants for Amtrak
- Northeast Corridor modernization
- Partnership grants for intercity rail service
- Rail improvement and safety grants
- Grade crossing safety improvements
U.S. market share of plug-in electric vehicle (EV) sales is only one-third the size of the Chinese EV market.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will provide $7.5B in funding for the deployment of EV chargers to provide convenient charging where people live, work, and shop.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal includes $1B of funding for planning, design, demolition, and reconstruction of street grids, parks, or other infrastructure. This will be the first-ever program to reconnect communities cut-off by past transportation infrastructure investments.
Up to 10M American households and 400K schools and child care centers lack safe drinking water.

The infrastructure deal includes a $55B investment in clean drinking water — the largest in American history — and will replace 100% of the nation’s lead pipes and service lines.
The Infrastructure Deal makes our communities safer and more resilient to the impacts of climate change and cyber-attacks, with an investment of roughly $50B. This includes funds to protect against droughts, wildfires and floods, and a major investment in weatherization.
More than 30M Americans live in areas where there is no broadband infrastructure that provides minimally acceptable speeds.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal invests $65B to:
- Ensure every American has access to reliable high-speed internet
- Lower prices for internet service

Last night the Senate took an important step toward passing the Build Back Better Agenda – a plan to create jobs, cut taxes, and lower costs for working families. For today's #WhiteHouseDeepDive, let's look at how this plan brings down costs for Americans.

🧵THREAD:
By lowering health insurance premiums, the Build Back Better Agenda will save 9 million people an average of $50 per person per month, and help an additional 4 million uninsured people gain coverage. The plan will also add dental, vision, and hearing coverage to Medicare.
The Build Back Better Agenda's health care savings don't stop at more affordable coverage. President Biden knows that nearly 1 in 4 Americans struggle to afford their prescription drugs. His plan will lower costs by empowering Medicare to negotiate and drive down drug prices.
