1/ My newly placed “Stop the Recall” sign was ripped in half and left on my front yard. It’s a crime to do such a thing. Lawlessness and race baiting, like fake ballot boxes and hydroxychloroquine COVID cures, will not help #California.
2/ A very vocal and well-funded minority of discontents is raging to get the duly elected @CAgovernor recalled and replaced. They claim @GavinNewsom is responsible for everything wrong with how their lives are going.
3/ Top complaints are businesses are closing, people are leaving & we lost a congressional seat (1 of 54), claiming a tragic loss of federal influence. If that was a concern, why did these same recall supporters repress the #Census reporting of all people residing in California?
4/ Recall proponents correctly point out businesses were hurt by the #pandemic. California has had 39% of its businesses close. The national average is 40%. California is not exceptional in this regard except, unlike most states (especially those governed by @GOP executives)...
5/ ...California has provided business tax breaks, $125 billion in business loans and secured $30 billion in business federal relief. California is bouncing back and new businesses are opening.
6/ (In fact, thanks to an unprecedented state surplus, @GavinNewsom recently announced an expansion to HIS Golden State Stimulus plan, under which every California family that earned less than $75K last year will receive an extra stimulus check for $600/adult and $500/child...
7/ This money will reach 75% of all Californians. Does anyone really think any "fiscally conservative" @CAGOP governor would do that??) The governor is not standing in the way of a safe and prosperous recovery. The recall is.
8/ This recall has been orchestrated by out of state financing and lauded by an endless list of want-to-be psycho-celebrity politicos. #StopTheRecall
9/ Vote-by-mail ballots arrive in all California mailboxes beginning Monday, August 16. #VoteNoOnTheRecall, Question 1, sign it, place it in the postage-paid envelope and seal it, and mail it or bring it to a local drop box in your area ASAP before September 14.
