PM @AbiyAhmedAli and his delegation concluded a one day visit to Ankara, Turkey and returned back to Ethiopia. The official visit marked the 125th anniversary of Ethio-Turkish relations and culminated with the signing of four agreements. 1/4 ImageImageImage
Signed agreements:
1. Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of water
2. Military Framework Agreement
3. Implementation Protocol regarding Financial Assistance

During the course of the official visit, PM Abiy Ahmed laid a wreath at the Anitkabir Mausoleum and shared, “Ethiopia cherishes its ties with Turkey rooted in a common understanding of respect and trust, befitting two ancient civilisations with rich cultures and traditions.” 3/4 ImageImageImageImage
Following a warm welcoming ceremony for the Prime Minister at the Presidential Palace, the two leaders held a bilateral meeting with their delegations in which both expressed their commitment to further strengthening of cooperation. 4/4

Human Rights Watch Report: TPLF has been designated a terrorist organization per the laws of the land hence counter terrorism measures are being taken against its informants, agents and financiers. (1/4)
The Federal Intelligence and Security Task Force has indicated it has caught TPLF operatives undertaking various covert activities by fundraising, serving as informants and facilitating logistical support for the terrorist group. (2/4)

Alliance of terror groups TPLF + Shene - THREAD
The declared alliance between Shene/OLA &TPLF is not new nor surprising to the GoE. While the timing of the public declaration needs examining, GoE has been indicating for well over 2 yrs now that TPLF have been using Shene as errand runners for their destructive mission. (1/8)

Problematic Framing:  if twitter hashtags continue to be the source of intelligence that key policy makers globally defer to, then one ends up taking as truthful for example - the fake Humera massacre that has been trending by TPLF operatives for two weeks now. (1/4)
It is being concocted that Tigray is under a siege or blockade by the GoE. Hence why TPLF waged a confrontation on the Afar entry point to give the impression that the government is blocking humanitarian assistance through that route and hence make demands for other routes. (2/4)
Those who want corridors for weapons and non-humanitarian goods to be routed to them continue to try and manipulate the realities on the ground. As a sovereign nation, GoE determines which route is more suitable to deliver in its responsibility of assistance. (3/4)

As of May 3 #AxumCriminalInvestigation led by Federal Attorney General @FAGEthiopia has collected testimonies of 95 witnesses and documentary evidence. Discovered #TPLF trained and deployed about 2,500 para-military personnel in major cities of the region. 1/6
#AxumCriminalInvestigation found that #TPFL “trained” 1,500 youth to shoot guns during the period from 10 to 18 November 2020 to confront #ENDF. 2/6
#AxumCriminalInvestigation recorded testimonies of 116 victims of #rape and identified members of the #FederalPolice and EENDF involved in the crime. Cases with #FederalPolice transferred to the Regional Prosecution Office, members of #ENDF transferred to military court. 3/6
