The plan for the district based on the email sent out by the superintendent isn’t mandatory masks. It is “encouraging students and staff to wear a mask”. The same people who have refused to wear a mask will continue to not wear a mask and infect others across every campus.
And this from Granbury ISD “leadership”: “we expect the number of active cases in our district to plateau and eventually decline”. Yeah, with no masks and a low vaccination rate, it only plateaus and goes down once everyone has gotten it.
TEA has said districts can require masks. Granbury ISD just doesn’t want to. With 205 COVID cases in 9 days of school, and 162 just this week, that isn’t leadership. That’s negligence.
