Of course, Abantu was worried about her son, Johnny. What mother wouldn't be?
Even Bantu's mother, who would be visiting in time of her birthday, worried about her. But she knew what was worrying her junior colleague.
'Nothing will happen to your baby,' Bantu said.
Pregnant women always worried about pregnancy horror stories.
'I think I feel another headache coming on,' Lizi said. 'If it persists I might have to ask for a day off work this week.
'Oh, no!' Bantu said, mentioning that they had a big campaign that week. 'We can't afford to have you off work, Lizi. I will not allow that.'
'So you only want me here for the big campaigns, not concerned that I'm heavily pregnant?' Lizi asked.
'Listen,' Bantu said. 'I don't want another unneccsary fight with the boss. You know I want to keep the firepower for bigger battles. Besides, I want you to be on my side. '
'And you always take my side when I'm up against some of our conniving coworkers.'
'What are you gonna do when I'm in hospital?' Lizi asked, adding that she would not always be there at work to side with Abantu.
'The point is you're still here,' Bantu said. 'But, listen, everything's going to be fine with baba. Relax a little.'
You know what. how about I invite you to a dinner at my place with my parents when they're here? You'll realize that your pregnancy fears are overexagarrated?
