So you've got more than one job offer, but how do you choose between them?
Here's a 🧵 of the five things you need to consider them help you pick the right job and company... #jobs#careeradvice#jobsearch
1) Progression - Which one will make you more employable 2-3 years down the line? Where will you get exposure to the most in-demand technologies? Where will you be given interesting & challenging problems to solve & be pushed out of your comfort zone? Where will you learn more?
2) Package - In which job will you feel "better off" both in terms of money, extra benefits & time? Don't compare the whole package because some things will matter more to you than others. Choose what's important to you and compare the packages on those factors alone.
3) Purpose - Which company's purpose do you connect more closely with? This could be about making the world a better place, or it could just be because you are really passionate about gaming or building cool Developer tools. Whatever gives you the buzz - follow that!
4) People - Which Manager and Team did you get the best vibe from? If you choose the people that you get on best with, feel you could learn from, respect and find approachable then this will go a long way to ensuring you'll be happy and supported.
5) Process - Which company had the most enjoyable, people-centred interview process? How they manage the interview process will probably say a lot about their way of working more generally. If it was drawn out, non-communicative or painful then that's a warning sign.
Pick your favourite two offers and compare them against these 5 criteria. The one that gets "best of 5" should be the one you choose.
