Hello World and hello CT (Attempt #2 at a thread). My name is Johnny and two weeks ago I was hired into @IOG_Eng #IOHK as an Enterprise Architect and after lurking on Twitter for the past few weeks, I've decided today would be a good time to introduce myself. #Cardano #ADA 1/n
@IOG_Eng I consider myself a Polymath at the core, an Applied Technologist by passion, an Enterprise Architect by trade, but I've cut my teeth with various roles as a programmer, coder, developer, software engineer, solution architect, cloud specialist, and tech leader. 2/n
@IOG_Eng I first entered the crypto space in late 2016 and my first purchases were #Bitcoin, #Ethereum, and #Litecoin . Like many others, I was initially interested in Moon and Lambo, but that changed after I watched @IOHK_Charles's TED Talk in Bermuda 3/n
@IOG_Eng After watching many of @IOHK_Charles's videos on YT, I realized I cared more about Ahmad Khan and improving the human condition than I do about Moon and Lambo and I realized that #Cardano is the most committed to these aspirations in our crypto space. 4/n
@IOG_Eng I joined @IOG_Eng because of the team's commitment to academic rigor, scientific principles, and engineering discipline. After two weeks on board, I'm blown away by the authenticity, sharing of ideas, diversity of thought, global collaboration, and shared mutual respect. 6/n
@IOG_Eng I've always valued and appreciated the importance of diversity in innovation, but diversity only works if each individual in the organization is free and encouraged to bring their true and authentic self into every aspect of work and that is especially true here at #IOHK. 7/n
@IOG_Eng I generally like to maintain a low profile in my personal and private life, but as an Enterprise Architect at IOHK, I've created this twitter account to share, discuss, and debate ideas and I want to do it in a genuine, authentic and principally transparent way. 8/n
@IOG_Eng As a #TOGAF certified enterprise architect, I've always enjoy the process of zooming out, looking at systems of systems holistically, building models and bringing diverse groups of stakeholders together to discuss trade-offs and implications of architecture decisions. 9/n
@IOG_Eng I'm faced with the challenge of adapting many of the principles of enterprise architecture beyond the walls of traditional frameworks to our entire ecosystem, but I remain committed to accomplishing this by meeting as many of you as possible and meeting you where you're at 10/n
@IOG_Eng I believe the future will undoubtedly consist of multiple interoperable blockchains. This is inevitable as there are so many talented and bright minds working in this space. Only the fittest ecosystems will survive and thrive, but we are working towards similar goals. 11/n
@IOG_Eng One of my favorite tools in my architecture toolbelt is the humble analogy and in the world of blockchain, distributed ledgers, and cryptocurrency, we can think of these projects and ecosystems like different cities on one decentralized continent or nation. 12/n
@IOG_Eng There will be differences and commonalities across cities. Just like you can get your shopping and banking done in different cities, #NFTs, commerce, marketplaces, and #DeFi will become points of parity in the future interconnected metaverse of blockchains. 13/n
@IOG_Eng Some cities have lots of parks and green spaces, some have thriving arts and theater districts, some have rich public transportation, while some favor cars and roads, and others favor bike lanes and pedestrian traffic. 14/n
@IOG_Eng Some cities have underground utilities and magnificent and impressive landmarks. Some have tall skyscrapers, while others have height restrictions and strict zoning laws. 15/n
@IOG_Eng The points of differentiation will be around more nuanced dimensions like robustness, resiliency, engineering, culture, community, treasury, governance and commitment to open source and decentralized principles. 16/n
@IOG_Eng But just like with real cities, telecommunications and transportation infrastructure allow us all to travel freely between cities and appreciate their unique qualities. In the end which city and which blockchain ecosystem will you choose to consider "home"? 17/n
@IOG_Eng We are early in this space and the future is ripe for innovation and evolution by the most fit of these ecosystems. I hope to play a central role in helping the #Cardano ecosystem evolve to meet the needs to it's early adopters and current and future community members. 18/n
@IOG_Eng I hope to collaborate with ecosystem architects of other projects much like urban and city planners come together to collaborate with other urban planners to share and propagate the ideas that best serve our constituents in a decentralized future. 19/n
@IOG_Eng If you are a developer, architect, or creator within the #Cardano Ecosystem, I would love to work with you. I have already seen many beautiful attempts to capture the breadth of our Ecosystem and I'd like to work with all of you to extend and enrich these. 20/n
@IOG_Eng I hope to work within and across ecosystems, with all of you to develop a set of ontologies and taxonomies to better represent the full depth and breadth of our ecosystem in registries and repositories with rich meta data. Stayed tuned to this space. The future is bright. 21/21

1/n There are important differences between city infrastructure, governments, institutions, bureaucracies, and the communities and ecosystems that take root and thrive within these contexts. Lets focus on how blockchain infrastructure is analogous to city infrastructure.
2/n City Infrastructure consists of things like roads and highways, public transportation, and utilities like sewage, water, energy among other concerns. This infrastructure is planned and developed in the context of the citizens and communities they will support.
3/n City infrastructure is scrutinized by architects and civil engineers who ask questions like how wide should the roads be? how will traffic flow? how to ensure safety? will we bury our utilities? how much sewage and water treatment do we need?
