1/n #Hinduphobia or Hate for #Hindus comes with a dark historical pattern.

Indeed the notion draws inspirations from colonialism buttressed by the ideas propelled by aspiration for "Christendom."

The long story cut short in this thread.

Read, RT & share.
2/n The genesis of the matter lies in the notion of racism.

So what exactly is Racism? It is conviction that:

a) all humans are not equal
b) some are "worthier" than others.

And those regarded as "unworthy humans"are not treated on par with "worthy humans".
3/n A reading of subject would tell us that the phenomenon is not of 15th or 16th century but from the period when Bible was being conceived.

It began with humiliation of Jews and seeing them as low lives.
4/n In New Testament, check following:

a)John 8:44
b)Revelation 2:9 and 3:9.

The Jews & their synagogues were seen as associate of Devils.

Even Paul was no less. He contributed highly to the anti-Jew sentiments among early Christians.
5/n Paul said that the gospel superseded the law.

This meant:
a)Christianity superseded Judaism
b)Jews & Judaism stood below Christians and Christianity.

Trust me, these ideas were the birth pain of racism in West.
6/n You talk to anyone living in South Africa and having known the experience of Apartheid, he or she would tell you how Bible played a crucial role.

This book (tough to get now), has details about this phenomenon really well amazon.com/apartheid-Bibl…
7/n But this was actually not limited to South Africa. This discrimination based on color got Bible based support in USA too.

Nina Jablonski has given a clear picture in this book.
amazon.in/Living-Color-B…
8/n The whole west was convinced of white supremacy based on the story of Noah's curse of Canaan, the son of Ham (Genesis 9:18-27).

This has been well illustrated in this book (Page 137-53). Some pages attached
books.google.co.in/books?hl=en&lr…
9/n So the reason for the curse has been presented as:
"Ham, Noah's son, didn't cover his father's nakedness after seeing him lying naked in his tent been high because of Alcohol."

And the curse was (read snippet), Genesis 9:25
10/n So then we have enough references that in early days Bible readers had notion as below:

"Ham's descendants had dark skin as slaves normally had darker skin."
11/n Although, biblical texts don't support this assumption but the Old Testament tells us that Israelites were commanded to subdue and even to exterminate the Canaanites.
12/n And most of the slaves in the Western world came from land of darker skin, this reinforced the assumption for dark-skinned people to be descendants of Ham & Canaan.

Nina Jablonski had actually described it really well.
13/n So a careful reading would let us know that it all began with the end of first century AD.

The period when Christianity broke away from "Second Temple Judaism" (for ref read this book)
books.google.co.in/books?id=LHHxk… )
14/n And this separation gave rise to the conviction that Christianity superseded Judaism. Anyone who has read History of Christianity would get abundant evidence around Christianity's Supersessionism theology buttressing anti-Judaism.
15/n The same Supersessionism also became integral part of Islam that sprouted out of brawl among various schools of thoughts Christianity.

Now I'll give some ideas about below points in this thread before touching the nerves of "Hinduphobia":
16/n
a)History of early Christianity
b)Byzantine period
c)Protestant Reformation and the views of some reformers before the period of Western colonization of the world
d)Christianity ranking of Humans.
17/n Most of the biblical scholars agree that "Jesus" (If he existed) had nothing to do with the origin of Christianity.

He must have been a Jew & he merely had a message of Yahweh. This book by Den Heyer (pg 80-2) has lots of details.
amazon.in/Jesus-Matters-…
18/n Other books that throw light on this matter are:
a)Judaism and the Origins of Christianity by David Flusser (Pg 614-77)
b)Harlow, D.C., 2010, "Early Judaism and early Christianity", by D.C. Harlow in "The Eerdmans dictionary of early Judaism" (Pg 257-78)
19/n c) Jesus and Empire: The Kingdom of God and the New World Disorder by Richard A. Horsley, (Pg 55-78)
d)Historical Jesus: What Can We Know and How Can We Know It? by Anthony Le Donne (Pg 72-93)
e)De veelvormigheid van het vroegste christendom by Gerard P. Luttikhuizen
20/n
f) Jesus: A Brief History by W. Barnes Tatum (pg 14-18)
g)Christian Beginnings: From Nazareth to Nicaea by Geza Vermes (Pg 1-60)

So we get to know that Jesus hoped that Yahweh will once again reign in Palestine making a more equitable society removing foreign exploitation.
21/n As per Karen Armstrong in "Fields of Blood: Religion and the History of Violence",

...it becomes clear that Romans had taken complete control of land that we know as Palestine in 63 BC. And with this harsh tax systems had come upon them.
22/n With the passage of time, hope of Yahweh coming and liberating from foreign oppression started becoming way more stronger.

And then as per Christian traditions, Jesus, from Galilee, emerges in this context who goes on to deliver a message.
23/n Message was that the oppression would end soon.

Now, we are told that, when he cleansed the temple in Jerusalem (30 CE), the Romans couldn't tolerate it as they expected a full fledged rebellions.
24/n And then they say that he was crucified to set the message straight that:

"Any challenge to Roman rule shall see worst of the fate."

Jesus certainly wasn't the first Jew to suffer this fate but his crucifixion brought what none would think.
25/n His followers were shaken but yet lived with the though that Jesus would inaugurate Yahweh's kingdom.

& Few people brought the Jesus movement.

It was a Jewish movement until the Romans suppressed the First Jewish Rebellion in the 7th decade of first century.
26/n When the rebellion began in 66 CE, Roman Soldiers stationed in the fort of Antonia had to run away saving life.

Horsley in his book Jesus and Empire (pg 36) clarifies that the land was free from Imperial Control for a while.
27/n The things were not so easy for the Romans and they needed 4 years to come back in Jerusalem once again. This time they beat the rebels bad & shown way out, land & temple was ransacked.

Those of the Jesus movement had to flee too.
28/n Fleeing from there they settled in Syria & cut off the alliance with the "Pharisaic Reformation Movement" (read John 8:44, Revelation 2:9, 3:9, where Jews are labelled "children of the Devil" & their meetings "synagogues of Satan").

Yavne goes on to become their headquarter
29/n Details related to briefs written in 28/n are mentioned in
"The Childhood of Christianity"
by
Etienne Trocme
books.google.co.in/books/about/Th…
30/n One very interesting aspect is touched upon by Trocme in this book.

He explains that, "Christians had stopped getting into polemics with people born Jewish and showed themselves to be the authentic Jews."

Today, b'coz of our understanding of particular context, time, history wrt affiliations, may end up setting differences with Hindutva.

But get in drilled in mind, today they are attacking word "Hindutva",tomorrow they will do same to"Hinduism" too.

They have problem with Hindus.
They have issues with exactly that parts of Hinduism, that touched few parts of our history aided by British misinterpretations.

You claim that preserving "Jati System" would preserve "Hinduism", but there they are hitting you exactly there in name of Hindutva.
It is high time that we get over our obsession with seeing superiority as prescribed by Sampradaya that we subscribe too.

The merger of Sampradayas for common cause, with own ideas being limited to not superseding others should be the idea.

Reformation isn’t needed in process that has “evolution.”

Sanatana Dharma, is the address to Nature, which evolves everyday.

The more beings are born, more she evolves. Every extra breathing has a new carbon-footprint.
Reformation comes in play where things are actually “distorted.”

Our Shastras don’t have contradictions, but evidence of “evolution” which was always accepted by our Acharyas.
While Christians after reformation, got to be known as Protestant, our Shastras despite evolutions kept being accepted by Hindus. There contradictions didn’t being new sect each time.

Dharma is like water, for it is Santana.

Well @TheDeshBhakt ,"Hindutva"isn't only "Hindu Nationalism"as claimed by @devduttmyth, I must tell u that when Savarkar took it up in that form decades after it being coined (1892),it saved nation from the backlash of political Islam which could have resulted in Pakistan ++++
Hindutva is that force @TheDeshBhakt which is making us recognize our past, good and bad which had got crushed by the gang of Brown Sahibs.

Would @devduttmyth, agree with @AudreyTruschke who says that what "Nirbhaya" had to face is core of Hindus, citing Draupadi?
And @AudreyTruschke is one of the speakers and core behind the #DismantlingGlobalHindutva conference.

While she criticizes and abuses Hindu Sahstras day & night, she happens to be AUrangzeb fan girl, who was fan of sex slavery.

Qur'an 9.5:

'Kill the polytheists "who violated their treaties" wherever you find them, capture them, besiege them, and lie in wait for them on every way.'

Then comes Qur'an 9.6, which talks not to kill polytheists who ask for protection. (This is nothing but Jaziya)"
This means, anyone who is ready to pay Jaziya shall be protected. And why not, as it pays more than Zakat.

Now, the allegations of breaking of treaty is made, but the truth is that the feud between two tribes existed lot before the treaty.
And if one goes in details of the treaty, they would know that it was Muhammad who was first to break the treaty too.

As per treaty any Muslim who flees Mecca for Medina had to be returned. +

It goes back to the idea of Protestant Reforms.
This is a system based on Christian Ideas. The voice against popes, carried on as voice against all priestly class. It carried in India too.
Even, the idea of anti-majoritarian based on cultural Marxism too adds against all UC.
I can’t deny that there was no oppression. But this problem even after being solved kept being used as token to show hatred for UC.

Their shops can’t run without anti-majoritarian emotion.

I deny that motive to oppress came from Shastras, rather from misinterpretations+
& non denial to learn about context, time & changing world.

In every period Shastras need to be read wrt current time, or else it will only demean the great scholarship of Hindus which kept evolving.

#MoplahMassacreTruth Some Quotes:

Will Durant writes in Oriental Heritage,

"Shortly after the worst of all riots between Moslems and Hindus, when the Moplah Mohammedans butchered hundreds of unarmed Hindus and offered their prepuces as a covenant to Allah, ...
...these same Moslems were stricken with famine; Gandhi collected funds for them from all India, and, with no regard for the best precedents, forwarded every anna, without deduction for "overhead," to the starving enemy."
Now read what The Rani of Nilambur wrote in a petition to Lady Reading in 1922:

"...of the many wells and tanks filled up with the mutilated, but often only half dead bodies of our nearest and dearest ones who refused to abandon the faith of our fathers;of pregnant women +
