Every great leader understands how to thrive in uncertain times.
But 98.6% of people will get stuck in analysis paralysis.
8 tips to dealing with uncertainty that are actually helpful:
1. Let go of control
- Spend your energy focused only on the things in your control
- Ignore everything else
2. Learn to act with less info
- Accept the fact you will never have all the data you need
- Get started anyway
3. Get comfortable being wrong
- Sometimes the best decision at the time will still be wrong
- The best decision is better than no decision
- Learn from the misstep and keep moving forward
4. Focus on your strengths
- Remind yourself how you found success in the past
- Do more of the things that come naturally to you
5. Be proactive in dealing with stress
- Plan problem-solving time throughout each day
- Schedule and protect time for you
- Learn to feel your emotions physically and think before you act
6. Always be learning
- The best minds in every industry are sharing their thoughts on social, podcasts, etc. Listen!
- Learn from other industries and people entirely unlike you
7. Monitor your self-talk
- The stories we tell about ourselves end up coming true
- Visualize yourself succeeding
8. Prepare for what you can
- Make a plan
- Execute
- Be ready to pivot
