@Hadithoftheday Abyssinia/Habsha (Present day Ethiopia).
Abyssinia is known as the "Haven of the First Migration" of Muslims.
Abyssinia was a land where its king, Negus (Najashi) was renowed for justice and in whose land human rights were cherished.
@Hadithoftheday The severity of the persecution, insults, and torturous acts the polytheists inflicted upon the Muslims continued to increase and worsen each day. As a result, Makkah became an unbearable city for the Muslims to live in.
@Hadithoftheday The polytheists did not intend to forgo their cruel and inhumane behavior, either.
For that reason, one day our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ told the Muslims, “You might as well spread on the face of the Earth. Allah will bring you together once again.”
@Hadithoftheday When the companions asked, “O Allah’s Apostle, where shall we go?” Prophet Muhammad ﷺ pointed in the direction of Abyssinia and said, “It will be good if you go to the country of Abyssinia. +
@Hadithoftheday Nobody is tortured near the Abyssinian King. It is a righteous country. Hopefully Allah will allow you to attain peace there.”
@Hadithoftheday Upon the advice & Permission of Muhammad ﷺ,the Muslim procession that constituted few men & women left their homeland, parents, relatives, neighbors, properties,& gardens with the blessed aim of protecting their religion,& secretly set forth in the direction of a foreign country
@Hadithoftheday When the conditions of the Muslims reached the point where they could no longer tolerate the persecution of the Quraysh, Muhammad ﷺ ordered them to take their families & go to Abyssinia. However, he himself did not go with them but migrated to Medina after a number of years.
@Hadithoftheday The Prophet (ﷺ) did not think of migrating from Mecca, except after he:
1-Exhausted all the means of inviting the people of Quraysh to Islam.
+
@Hadithoftheday 2-Made sure that his Companions were safe and that they have all migrated and safely settled in Medina. He did not migrate until Islam had entered in Medina and after the city had become a safe homeland for the Muslim community and Islam.
@Hadithoftheday Abyssinia was not a Muslim society. But, Negus, preserved the rights of the Muslim minority,& gave them protection and freedom of faith. Abyssinia was a described as a land where no one was oppressed and this is what prompted the Prophet ﷺ to encourage Muslims to migrate there
@Hadithoftheday Muslims lived in Abyssinia as a minority yet they enjoyed a secure and safe life and rights and freedom in a non-Islamic country.
The Sahaba (the Companions) who had left Mecca in secrecy, were greeted wonderfully by King Najashi and his people.
@Hadithoftheday After settling in Abyssinia, the Muslims did not encounter any obstacles or difficulty in practicing their religious beliefs and fulfilling their religious duties. The Muslims said, We saw good neighborliness and inviolability towards our religion. We were not mistreated.
@Hadithoftheday The Migration to Abyssinia took place on two different occasions. The first one occurred in the fifth year of the Proclamation of Islam in the month of Rajab. In first one, only few men and women migrated to Abyssinia.
The exact time of the second migration is unknown.
@Hadithoftheday The individuals who constituted the first Muslim procession to Abyssinia were greeted very positively by the Ruler of Abyssinia were:
Abu Sabra bin Abi Ruhm R.A and his wife Ummu Kulthum R.A
@Hadithoftheday Uthman R.A took his wife, Ruqayyah R.A by his side and proceeded on the journey before everyone else. When Prophet ﷺ was notified, he said, “The first person to follow Prophet Lut in taking his family and migrating in the way of Allah is Uthman.”
@Hadithoftheday Allah says in Qur'an:
Those who migrate for the sake of Allah after having been wronged, We will surely settle them in a good place in the world, & the rewards of the Hereafter is surely greater, had they known. Those who are patient and put their trust in their Lord. (16:41-42)

Ayyub A.S was a Prophet of Allah from the descendant of Ibrahim A.S
He was blessed with everything that a man can desire in this world;good health,family & plenty of wealth,But he suddenly lost them all as a test from Allah
Allah had granted Ayoub A.S great wealth in the form of lands, herds and servants, and he had a devoted family. With all that, he was a humble man of great piety, constantly glorifying and devoutly thanking his Lord.
Allah then tested him with a series of calamities.
Allah first tested Ayyub A.S by suddenly stripping away all his wealth and property. But Ayyub A.S remained firm and constant, not shattered or even shaken by this disaster, and continued to glorify his Lord.
@Hadithoftheday Hamzah R.A.
Umar R.A accepted Islam three days after Hamzah R.A.
At that time the Muslims numbered were thirty-nine.
Umar R.A said:
"I remember that when I became Muslim, there were just thirty-nine men with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I brought the number to forty.
@Hadithoftheday Umar Ibn Al Khattab R.A's acceptance of Islam is perhaps one of the most extraordinary.
As influence of Muhammad ﷺ grew, Umar R.A became increasingly resentful. +
@Hadithoftheday In the sixth year of the revelation, Umar R.A was appointed by a group of Quraish men to kill the Prophet ﷺ. He set out towards the Prophet ﷺ, sword in hand, ready to kill him.
Mus'ab ibn Umair R.A was a child of a rich family.From his childhood,he lived in luxuries of life.
Especially as a handsome young man,he was lavished with special love & attention
In fact,he was unique in his luxurious tastes
He wore the most costly clothes and changed them twice a day. His shoes used to be the costliest available at that time.
He was also fond of wearing fragrance. A whiff of his fragrance was enough for the people to know that Mus'ab is passing by.
With all that luxurious lifestyle, he was very intelligent and had an elegant personality with keen mind and mastery in eloquent speech. Because of these qualities, he was moving about among the influential circles of chiefs of Quraysh at a young age.
@Hadithoftheday Burāq.
Prophet ﷺ was sleeping in his room & Jibrael A.S came & woke him up & led him to white beast named as “Buraq".
Buraq is described as being between a mule and a donkey. Its speed was such that its hooves would touch where its eyes gazed.
@Hadithoftheday Allah says in Qur'an :
"Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing."
(Quran. Al-Israa 17: Verse 1)
@Hadithoftheday Prophet ﷺ mounted on buraq & began to fly towards Quds.
Buraq bore Prophet ﷺ on its back and in an instant transported him to Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, a journey that at the time took weeks overland. There, at Quds, the Prophet ﷺ led all the Prophets in prayer.
Sumayya R.A was the first Martyr of Islam & wife of Yasir R.A.
Yasir R.A was the 2nd Martyr of Islam.
Ammar R.A was Martyred in Battle of Siffin.
Summayya R.A was the 1st martyr of Islam.
Sayyidna Yasir R.A was the first man and overall the 2nd Martyr of Islam.
They were the parents of Ammar R.A.
The Yasir's family were the first “whole family” to accept Islam (outside the family of Prophet ﷺ)
Yasir; his wife,Sumayya; & their son, Ammar; all three accepted Islam as soon as they heard the Call of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ
Ammar & his family were tormented so consistently that Prophet ﷺ would urge them to be patient by reminding them that they were destined for Paradise
@Hadithoftheday Umayyah ibn Khalaf.
When Umayyah heard about Bilal reverting to Islam, he tortured him & forced him to relinquish the Islam.
But filled with love of Muhammad ﷺ & Islam, Bilal remained steadfast despite extreme torture and kept saying “Ahad, Ahad.” (Allah is One, Allah is One)
@Hadithoftheday Umayyah ibn Khalaf was the head of Banu Jumah tribe of Quraysh.
Bilal R.A suffered terribly after accepting Islam.
Umayyah used all sorts of torture on Bilal R.A to make him change his mind. But Bilal R.A remained firm.
Umayyah ibn Khalaf was killed in the Battle of Badr.
@Hadithoftheday When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ learned about his tribulation, he sent Abu Bakr R.A, who bought him from the oppressor and freed him. The freedom was Islam’s first gift to Bilal. Second Caliph Umar ibn Khattab R.A honored him by calling him as Sayyedna (our leader)
