#Update on #FawnFire and our home

Today, we are still not in our home. We were lucky enough to have a CHP friend drive by our home, stop and look and also several others in our neighborhood.

The house is intact. The fire stopped about 1 mile from our subdivision thankfully
1/
Thanks to @CalFire, @Reddingfire and all volunteer fire departments along with countless others helping to stop this blaze from devouring everything.
There is ash and debris that is extensive, so we are told. We left the house quickly, so freezers failed.
2/
We are still not in our structure and probably won’t be for another day or two. We don’t know. We check the 211.org every 6 hours to update us.
Our pool is full of debris and ash. Our rooftop, gutters are going to need work/cleaning and also our air ducts.
3
Insurance will cover whatever we need, but we will, more than likely, lose our current coverage again. (We lost it after the Carr Fire, even though it didn’t get us)
We understand. We can’t help what is happening outside of hoping for wetter conditions in CA
4/
Thanks to everyone for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. I am always amazed at how you have reached out to me. Thank you.
I will continue to post. 100 + individuals lost their home to this fire, 2 of our friends were part of that group.
5/
Blame the arsonist, not the State of CA. Thank a firefighter when you see them. Thank the volunteers too.
I’ll keep you posted.
Out…….

Here’s another update of sorts on the #FawnFire and what’s happening for those interested.

We took a moment today to go eat lunch at a place we really like called Wilda’s in Redding.
The food is great, simple and we like to sit outside on a nice day.
THREAD 1/
Hubs met me from work and we sat outside on a bench/table next to the street. Behind us were 3 guys from somewhere close by who sat behind us. It took this picture from my car as we were leaving.
2/
While we sat there many subjects came up:
The #FawnFire
How the fire started
Who started it
The “riot” at the capital that was being called an insurrection
And the rally they had barely heard of recently at the capital that few attended
Nancy Pelosi
Biden

🔥Update
This is a 20 acre fire off of Fawndale Road (which is about 5 miles from us)

Yep it’s getting hotter.

I know it’s hard to see, but a fire plane just flew low over our home after checking out a fire that looks to be about 3 miles from us. Getting in the car to spot it. May be closer to I-5 than Jones Valley.
These planes shake the house!
🔥
3 new planes look like they are dropping water and spotter planes

This made me wonder:
“Why would the GOP want to allow the U.S. to default on it’s debts?”.
“Why would they deliberately want to screw the American people?”
“Why would the GOP feel the need to stop federal employees, Medicare and SSA recipients payments?”.

In 2020, this article came out about this very subject. I kept it. It was interesting as to what would happen, but the real question is why would they want to do it?
2/
If we defaulted on our debt, especially in 2020, when TFG was in office and created a $23.7 Trillion dollar debt, the question came back again.
My Q is: “Why did the GOP allow it? Was this planned in case of a Democratic president? Was this part of a long-term plan ?

The one story not told about the Recall Election in CA was that it was so tough to find volunteers who could help.
I did, and we had to work hard to find more to help us.
1/
THREAD
Part of the problem was rising cases in Shasta County of COVID and those individuals who were unvaccinated. We are a GOP stronghold, MAGA here, so there are a lot. I was concerned and so was my husband, but he knew I would wear a mask and be careful.
2.
As the Poll Inspector, I was in charge of making sure everyone else was doing the right thing as well. Masks were requested, but not mandated. Out of the 200 plus people who came in to cast or drop off a vote….probably 30% were masked.
That put an additional strain on us.

Once again, the @latimes is pushing these theories, like other rags across the country.
What most people don’t know is that at the polls, we got more questions asked about write in candidates because no one knew who Larry Elder was.
#FunFactsByAPollWorker
You know how hard it is for white MAGA’s to look someone in the eye and tell them they want to vote for a black man? Really hard.
#1 question we got was who were the write in candidates they could vote for. We provided them the approved list.
#FunFactFromAPollWorker
White MAGA’s, even Latinos who identify as Republican came out to vote against Newsom,
The #2 question we were asked?
Will my vote count if I don’t vote for someone on the approved list of candidates?
Answer: Yes, your vote will still count
