#SupremeCourt dismisses plea seeking implementation of National Health Policy. Justice DY Chandrachud observed that Petitioners in a #PublicInterestLitigation must do their homework and not leave the burden entirely on the State or Court otherwise Petitions should not be filed.

Justice DY Chandrachud: File a petition which has specific issues after studying the issue. Not this, you know, example of one person.

What is the source of knowledge? Can we give directions on an all-India basis with on example?

Justice DY Chandrachud: You can’t just annex a report and just say okay, now you take charge. You must do your homework also in your Petition.

This is the problem with such petitions.

Justice DY Chandrachud: Moving any PIL is difficult because you’re highlighting an important national issue so then the burden must lie on that person to ensure that homework is done.
