This is 2nd october we all know its birthday of Gandhi who is known in India as a man of principle,
According to historians his three principles were there. 1- Dont see bad 2- Dont do bad 3- Dont hear bad.
Firat read this thread and then decide about him was he overrated or under
History of Gandhi in India starts from the year 1915 but I will start from the year 1900 Boer war and he was in SA as assistant superintendent of the Indian volunteer stretcher-bearer corps.
about Boer war he wrote in his auto biography :- 👇
When the war was declared, my personal sympathies were all with the Boers, but my loyalty to the British rule drove me to participation with the British in that war. I felt that, if I demanded rights as a British citizen, it was also my duty,
as such to participate in the defence of the British Empire. so I collected together as many comrades as possible, and with very great difficulty got their services accepted as an ambulance corps.” He also got a medal for this!

Zulu war South Africa,
1906
That time Gandhi was 36 year old and he was as sergeant-Major in british Army.
Zulu were the tribes who were fighting against britishers.
Ethics of Gandhi say Non violence but that was massacre of Zulu in which Gandhi participated and appreciated.
On january when he returned in India 1915,
Same day we celebrate as NRI day,
But primarily he did not return but he was sent by britishers because that time First world War was going on and Indians were not joining british army so for influencing Indians he was sent.
Thats why Britishers gave him 2 titles 1- Kaiser-e-Hind
(This title was given to only 2 people in the world 1- Queen victoria 2- Gandhi)
2- Seargent (भर्ती करने वाला) Because Indians that time motivated with him and joined british Royal Army.
He became Barrister lived a urban life, traveled to UK,SA through trains, ships, cars.
After living is 40–45 years of life like this, comes to India in 1915,writes a book Hind Swaraj saying Indians should live in villages, shun modernity, cities, trains, army, industries
Principles!
Coming to India engaged in freedom struggle, supports British in WW1. Even recruits Indians to British army in 1918. Says 👉
“An empire that has been DEFENDING India and of which India aspires to be EQUAL partner in great peril(WW1), and it ill befits India to stand aloof +
India would be nowhere without Englishmen…The liberty loving English will surely yield, when they have seen we have laid our lives for them.”
Once a Indian Garhwali soldiers did refuse to fire at Indian protestors at Peshawar. Gandhi said-”A soldier who disobeys an order to fire breaks the oath which he has taken and renders himself guilty of criminal disobedience. I cannot ask officials and soldiers to disobey +
for when I am in power, I shall in all likelihood make use of those same officials and those same soldiers.”
On Jaliawala Bagh massacre in 1919 Gandhi said-”the dead were definitely not heroic martyrs. Were they heroes, they would have unsheathed the sword or at least used their sticks, or they would have bared their breast to Dyer and died bravely"
On Udham Singh killing Jalliawala Bagh culprit General Dyer, he said-”the outrage has caused me deep pain. I regard it as an act of insanity...I hope this will not be allowed to affect political judgement.” While SC Bose said Indians should take inspiration from Udham Singh.
A British MP once remarked “Gandhi was the best policeman the Britisher had in India” He kept Indian’s nationalism spirit at check by fooling them and in-turn checked from disturbing Britishers.
He was never for Purna Swaraj but for Dominion status only. But After pressure from SC Bose(young leaders) he finally submitted for this demand in 1929 (idea said to be inspired by Bhagat Singh’s idea of “Total Independence” in 1927)
He was a Dictator,
As put by Subhash Bose in his Autobiography-”The Working Committee(of Congress) since 1929 has been elected according to his dictation and no one can find a place on that committee who is not thoroughly submissive to him and his policy.”
Also when SC Bose was elected democratically as Congress President in 1939,CWC would not listen to him as he defeated Pattabhi Sitaramayya, wanted Congress to move on from Satyagrah style of protest. Bose had to resign from Congress and form separate org-Forward Bloc.
In 1946 election for Congress President and India’s first PM was held. 12 out of 15 Congress Committees voted for Sardar Patel, despite Gandhi favoring Nehru. But Gandhi asked Patel to withdraw nomination and Nehru to become President.
About Partition- Gandhi said on 3 March, 1947, “If the Congress wishes to accept partition, it will be over my dead body. So long as I am alive, I will never agree to the partition”
++
Gandhi we all know was famous for his Fasts unto DEATH until his demands were met. He did it for all sorts of things, but WHY NOT TO STOP PARTITION also when he assured he would die for it? Had he done that Jinnah could have budged?
BUT HE DIDN’T DO IT. Result- 10 Lakh died. 1.5 crore became homeless. This was the Largest Mass Migration in human history. It was a clear and absolute betrayal to all Indians.
Well we all know during partition Total wealth of India was too divided,
And sardar ji played an important role in this.
He gave pakistan half money of the pakistan share did not give full money soom Gandhi went to Bhookh hadtal on this.
Result patel had to pay that to pakistan.
His experiments with Manuben is known to everyone when he slept with 12 year old girl and did bathe with her fully n ude to pove his brahmacharya. m.jagran.com/blogs/updeshsa…
In the last I will say For me Gandhi was overrated.
Because nobody can be the father of nation,
And to become a Mahatma from a man your soul must be Mahan which his dual principles reject.
From Delhi sultanate time the invaders attacked on our temple and looted them and destroyed,
Does not matter it were mughals or Britishers or portuguese.
Why?
Because from Ancient time our temples are the center of Art and culture. @Sanjay_Dixit @ElvishYadav @ReallySwara
So our temples were not only rich economically but also rich in power, wisdom and culture.
There are many temples in India which are still myth for the science or where science does not work.
Like Jagannath puri temple,
64 yogini temple,
The temple of banaras which is tilted 9.5°
So the invaders wanted to ruin our not only economically but also by culture and wisdom too.
Because our temples earning was very much high so to stop this mughals imposed jajiya tax on us because they were earning huge amount of tax from our temples.
1568,Akbar captured the fort of Chittorgarh.Rajputs fought under leadership of brave Jaimal and Patta Sisodia. To save themselves from being captured by Mughals and made slaves, 1000s of rajput women commited Jauhar on 23rd February 1568. On the next day Rajputs commited Saka.
She is Pritilata Waddedar,
On the date of today 24 september 1932 when she was just 21, she decided to be martyr than to be caught by britishers,
How many of us know about her?
Not even 0.1% Population of India.
Lets know about her in this thread. @Sanjay_Dixit @RekhaSharma1511
She was born in 5 May 1911 in Chatgaon West bengal,
She was very much intelligent and that time she completed her graduation in first division,
Soon she got inspried from the revolutionary leader of bengal Surya kumar sen.
Do you know she got her degree after 80 year?
Reason behind it was because she usually go for a meating with Ramkrishna vishwas and he was later hanged by the britishers.
She became the member of Bachar sansthan which was loyal to britishers and thats why she was furious with this samsthan. @HiteshAwasthi89 @Indigen_Apsara
