High peak, brief hypo, quickly returns to baseline.
#2 No sweet potato. 4-6oz burger around 9am, then main meal around 1pm.
Much flatter response. 20g fewer carbs than the other two days.
#3 4-6oz burger around 9am, then sweet potato with main meal around 1pm.
Much lower peak. If consuming carbs, probably best not to lead with them.
Summary: Varied daily carb intake by ONLY ~20g carbs, but changed timing from first food, by itself, to later, along with regular meal.
Profound effect on glycemic response. Early consumption -> high peak, brief hypo.
When you eat matters as much as what you eat.
PS: For all you resistant starch fans: These sweet potatoes were cooked and cooled overnight. The peak in #1 suggests to me this makes very little difference.
