#COVID19India snapshot

▪️ 3.39 crore total cases

▪️ 2.44 lakh active cases; contributes 0.72% of total cases

▪️ 3.32 crore recoveries; recovery rate 97.95%

▪️ 57.87 crore total tests conducted; case positivity 5.86%

22,431 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours

56% of the new cases in the country in the last week were recorded in Kerala


Weekly case positivity has declined from 21.48% between 29th April-5th May, to 1.68% between 30th September - 6th October.

While overall positivity across the country gives comfort, there are still a large number of districts reporting high case positivity.

#COVID19Vaccination coverage (as on 7th October 2021)

▪️ Healthcare workers- 1.94 crore doses
▪️ Frontline workers- 3.36 crore doses
▪️ People above 45 yrs- 40.51 crore doses
▪️ People aged 18-44 yrs- 46.96 crore doses

Total doses administered- 92.77 crore

We need to be cautious and undertake the required precautions for the upcoming festive season.

Let us celebrate the festivals with caution. Adopt Covid Appropriate Behaviour.

4th round of national sero-survey for #COVID19 - Overall sero-prevalence is 67.6% in the entire population

Amongst the adults in the survey, 62.2% people were not vaccinated, while 24.8% had taken single dose of vaccine and 13% were fully vaccinated - DG @ICMRDELHI

Two third of the general population had SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. A third of population did not have antibodies (Still ~ 40 crores vulnerable)

States/districts/areas without antibodies run the risk of infection waves

Implications of 4th Round of National Sero-Survey show that there is a ray of hope but there is no room for complacency.

Non-essential travel must be discouraged and travel only if fully vaccinated - DG @ICMRDELHI

India witnesses steady decline in #COVID19 cases since last 17 days; less than 3 lakh Daily New Cases for eight consecutive days recorded: @MoHFW_INDIA

Consistent decline in active cases is recorded since last 22 days; on 10th May 2021 number of active cases were 37,45,237 which is now reduced to 27.20 lakhs active cases: @MoHFW_INDIA

✅7 States with 50,000 to 1 lakh active cases

An increasing share of recoveries can be seen vis-a-vis new cases. However, challenges in terms of increased cases, still continue.
