There was no twitter in 1990. The Kashmiri Hindu exodus went unheard, unseen. Today my heart breaks as I hear about the fresh exodus in 2021. Several Hindu families have left Srinagar and Anantnag in fear after recent brutal killings. Some packing their bags in tears. I am numb.
A young J&K Police man from Kashmiri Pandit community deployed in Jammu right now tells me that his family members who stay in their ancestral home in Baramulla of North Kashmir are leaving tomorrow morning for Jammu. This boy wanted to be a singer, difficult life made him a cop.
A well-known Kashmiri Pandit business family has left Srinagar today. They didn’t leave in last 32 years. Their grandson called me from abroad requesting if I speak to his grandfather who was the only one unwilling to leave even now. Tomorrow he might leave as well. Imagine.
In a two minute audio I received from Sheikhpura, Budgam, Kashmir, an elderly lady says she has packed her bags to leave before dawn tomorrow. Says 15 families have left already. Many from Vessu/Ganderbal leaving. She says her daughter in law got Govt job,so she stayed in valley.
The Kashmiri Hindu friend I wrote about two days ago reached Kashmir with her toddler today. She has been in tears, inconsolable. After meeting grandparents in Pulwama, she will leave Kashmir tomorrow morning. Her dream was to visit TumMul Kheerbhawani Temple. Now endless wait.
Govt notices that I have accessed from Kashmir indicate that many Kashmiri Pandit Govt employees in Central & South Kashmir have sought immediate police protection. I am told the govt is providing security but they remain soft targets. Not sharing notices for security reasons.
I hope PM @narendramodi & HM @AmitShah take steps to stop another exodus of Kashmiri Pandits. Ensure security for minority Hindus and Sikhs in Kashmir. Go all out against Islamist terrorists funded by Pakistan and their overground network. Act against the ecosystem. Now or never.

This is the Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Iddhah area of Srinagar where the terrorists killed two Sikh and Hindu teachers today. The school is now a security fortress.

Who will protect the minority Kashmiri Hindus and Sikhs of Kashmir?

Is anyone listening?
This silence is deafening.

J&K Police had Intel inputs about possible killings of minority community in Kashmir.

Government failed to protect minority Hindus & Sikhs in valley. You can’t imagine the fear psychosis.

And where are those who said these are not religious killings?

It’s a sleepless night for Kashmiri Hindus staying in the valley. Bindroo family has been a prominent Kashmiri Pandit family who stayed on even during peak of terrorism. Killing of a 70 year old man who gave medicines all these decades to the ailing Kashmiris is just bizarre.
I’ve been on phone with Hindu families in Kashmir. Some in constant fear, others in tears. Helpless. They’ve to think twice before attending funeral of Makhan Lal Bindroo who was killed by terrorists. Why can’t Govt provide safety to Kashmiri Hindus even after 32 years of exodus?
A Kashmiri Hindu friend with her toddler daughter has to travel to Kashmir tomorrow morning. Her daughter’s first visit to homeland. She calls to ask if it is safe to travel. ‘I have been never so scared. This is my first travel with ***. Isliye Itna darr lag raha hai’, she says.

Terrible news from Kashmir. Kashmiri Pandit owner of Bindroo Medicate in Iqbal Park, Srinagar - Makhan Lal Bindroo killed by terrorists this evening in Kashmir. This was followed by killing of non-local roadside Bhelpuri vendor in Lalbazar of Srinagar.
This is 70 year old Kashmiri Pandit Makhan Lal Bindroo who was shot dead by terrorists around 7pm today. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. My sources say J&K Police had Intel inputs indicating that minority community will be targeted in Srinagar.
As per Police the name of the person killed by terrorists near Madeen Sahab Lalbazar of Srinagar is Virender Paswan, resident of Bhagalpur in #Bihar. He was a Street Vendor of Golgappa. Killed while he was moving his cart in the area. He was residing at Alamgari Bazar Zadibal. L

Prime Minister @narendramodi patiently heard suggestions and inputs from all participants. He expressed happiness that all participants shared their frank and honest views. It was an open discussion which revolved around building a better future for Kashmir. Detailed thread👇
The main focus of the meeting was to strengthen the democratic process. PM @narendramodi said that we are fully committed to the democratic process in J&K. He stressed that the holding assembly elections just like the successful conduct of DDC elections is a priority.

This shameless collector in Chattisgarh not only abused his power but also slapped an innocent boy out on the road during pandemic and slammed his phone on the road. Not only should he be dismissed from service but there should be FIR. @bhupeshbaghel

I feel bad for the family of this collector. Imagine if this is the level of violence on the road, what kind of domestic violence will he be capable of? I hope CM Chattisgarh, DGP Chattisgarh take note and act. Need to set a precedent. Also DoPT GOI as well. @DrJitendraSingh
LATEST: Collector Surajpur District of Chattisgarh Ranbir Sharma has issued an apology for his behaviour. This is being circulated by Chattisgarh Govt in media for damage control. He is a Govt servant and has to abide by civil service rules. Chattisgarh Govt needs to act ASAP.
