the floods have affected 1.76 million people in 76 counties, cities, and districts. According to the department, 190,000 hectares of crops were devastated, and more than 17,000 homes were destroyed. 4,000 tents, 3,200 folding beds, cotton clothing,
and quilts have been assigned for disaster aid by various emergency management departments at various levels. More rain is anticipated in the southern half of Shanxi, according to the provincial meteorological department, with temperatures expected to plummet.
The provincial government has set aside 50 million yuan (about $7.8 million USD) to help with flood management and relief efforts. Shanxi, which is located on the eastern extremity of the Loess Plateau, is typically dry.
According to the provincial meteorological bureau, the province's average precipitation reached 119.5 mm from 8 p.m. on Oct. 2 to 8 a.m. on Oct. 7, which is three times the normal average rainfall for October in previous years.
The collected precipitation estimates in the province reached record highs at 63 national weather monitoring sites.
