Starting today, we’re trying something different and testing a new ad format in Tweet conversations. If you’re a part of this test (which is global; on iOS & Android only), you’ll see ads after the first, third or eighth reply under a Tweet. 🗣️
We see a big opportunity to build an ad offering that creates value and aligns incentives for creators and advertisers. But first...we test! 🧪
As we experiment with this format over the coming months, we’ll focus on understanding how it performs and how it impacts the people and conversations around it. 🥼
We’ll test different frequencies, layouts, contextually relevant ads, different insertion points, etc. And we’ll examine our learnings and figure out if it’s something we want to make permanent. 🤔
We’re excited about trying this out for our advertisers and we’re eager to explore how it could open the door for additional opportunities to reward Tweet authors and creators. More to come. 🚪

Last year we launched Carousel Ads - today, we’re launching Multi-Destination Carousels, which lets advertisers customize individual headlines and drive people to different destinations. A win-win for businesses and people alike! 🚀
So proud of this team and their #GRIT 🙏
We are just getting started!
We see our Performance advertising products as discovery tools. They should be able to help our partners bring people to the relevant goods and services that are important to them. If Twitter is to become a place for commerce, discovery will need to be effective and accessible.

1/ We just announced @MoPub is being acquired by @AppLovin. Since we acquired MoPub in 2013 we’ve grown the business significantly and it became a leading innovator in a crowded and competitive industry.…
2/ This decision was certainly not made lightly, but it does mean that we’ll be able to better focus on high impact areas, such as performance ads, professionals, small and medium businesses, and commerce that will push Twitter to new heights.
3/ It will also give MoPub and their customers the opportunity to flourish with the singular focus that AppLovin can provide. We believe AppLovin is well-positioned to continue to grow and invest in MoPub, as well as deliver exceptional service to their customers.

👋 everyone! Today we shared some of the awesome work from Twitter’s Ads Product team over the last year or so, and I’m excited to share a lil 🧵 of it with you now! First, read this 👇…
There are millions of businesses, professionals, non-profits, publishers and creators on Twitter. As @iamjameelg says, we need to make it easy for them to onboard, and we also need to make sure they can promote their Tweets in a quick and frictionless way 🏪
That’s why we rebuilt Quick Promote, our most popular self-serve ad tool. This is live in the US and will be available globally later this year 🌍

I had a couple of reactions to this statement. More in terms of how teams work because I think this notion of “the CEO runs the company” is flawed ... full disclosure, I work for @jack @twitter
The CEOs job is hire the management team. The management team runs the company day to day. The team is held accountable to deliver against agreed OKRs. That’s the first point - this is very much a team effort.
It’s not that simple tho. You can’t just hire talent; you have to build a team from that talent. Create an environment they can perform in. Get the balance, dynamics, personality right. This is artistry that you can’t learn from a book imho
