THREAD: When I reflect back on the past few years of the movement for #MedicareForAll, there was great momentum during the 2020 primary thanks in large part to @BernieSanders making it a key issue of his campaign, but then after Biden won everything completely changed…

Democrats stopped talking about Medicare for All and now that they control the entire government we can’t even get a floor vote on Medicare for All. The people’s needs haven’t changed. We still need Medicare for All and it’s clear we cannot count on the Democrats to fight for it.

Democrats won’t even fight for the moderate public option that Biden promised in his campaign. And what it comes down to is all of these rich politicians have their basic needs met. They all have healthcare. In fact, they have socialized healthcare that we the taxpayers pay for.

So they don’t know what it’s like to struggle and suffer and live without their basic needs met, which makes it easier for them to continue to sell us out to Big Pharma, the giant insurance companies, and all of their other corporate donors.

I hope people take one important lesson from all of this: Stop allowing the “Democratic” party to co-opt our grassroots movements and set the parameters about what we should or shouldn’t fight for because we the people have every right to fight for our basic human rights.

@Twitter has labeled this thread INTENSE & it’s true. The “Democratic” party pandering for people’s votes by saying healthcare is a human right but then not fighting to pass Medicare for All when they control the entire government is intense. They should stop lying to the people.
