Am I going to make my brain explode by reading all of this bullshit, or am I going to actually enjoy my night?
Lol. These jerks doing the "DRAFT" thing and not giving us the documents in a way that we can highlight or copy and paste.
tell me you're embarrassed by your work without telling me you're embarrassed by your work
IS THIS FOR REAL?!
I honestly don't think I'm going to be able to do this.
She's giving eighth-grade book report.
SOME COMMENTATORS SAY FACT X EXISTS. We're are but a humble presidential commission, who are we to say!?
Oh, god. They literally said that two paragraphs later.
It's really unfortunate that the commission was, apparently, prohibited from viewing the work of the Supreme Court.
This mediocre history report truly is written as if it was prepared by an eighth-grader who is unable to provide any independent judgment. Why even bother having commissioners? If you can get through the wording of this third sentence without screaming, you're stronger than me.
And to be clear, I have tremendous respect for several of the members of the commission, and, more broadly, respect for most of them and their work as scholars of the law. That makes the commission’s work all the more disappointing. I’d hope to see some speak out, at the least.

I’ll be listening to the Tsarnaev #SCOTUS arguments at 10 — arguments that wouldn’t be happening if the admin acted on its alleged death penalty opposition. But here we are: Biden’s DOJ is fighting to reinstate a death sentence that a lower court said was reached inappropriately.
So, before I got Covid, I was supposed to be running a half-marathon yesterday. Needless to say, losing basically all of September from running meant that was a no-go. But, today, I did finish a 10K, with a (very uneven, but, so it goes) 8:30 pace. So grateful to be back at it.
It’s World Mental Health Day, and I’ve talked about this before: For me, running has been one of the most successful tools I have to live a happy life with my bipolar—along with medication and therapy. Getting a run in like I did today, and I just *know* I’m re-centering myself.
Over time, I learned that other types of exercise worked basically just as well for me, but it was the running that really started me on a path to finding happiness living with my diagnosis. Of course, for me, quitting drinking (years after I’d been running) helped a ton, too.
Still obsessed w the BJay Pak stuff in Georgia. It seems like the additional info from the report (tho I might have missed reporting on this) is that Donoghue just decided while talking w Trump on 1/3 that Pak would be "resigning" the next day — to stop Trump from firing Pak.
Alito complains that the most silly criticism of the shadow docket is that they're late-night rulings. He mentioned that #SB8 was going into effect at midnight as a reason why SCOTUS has late-night decisions, but didn't mention that SCOTUS didn't rule before it went into effect.
Alito says that full briefing would have been impossible in shadow docket cases like #SB8 — ignoring the possibility that Chief Justice Roberts himself offered up: a temporary stay preventing #SB8 from going into effect until full briefing could be held.
