#ShivSena Chief @OfficeofUT 's speech on the occasion of #DasaraMelava - My take:
Caveat : I heard only 30 mnts or so at the end.
1. He made a distinction between #Hindutva as practiced by RSS & as understood by him. He said - my Hindutva doesn't make me hate people.
2. RSS Chief's persistent claim that all Indians had the same ancestors, meaning Hindus - UT had a 2 fold answer - If you talk of the ancestors, you will have to go back to monkeys, and, if ancestors of all Indians were Hindus - why u behave as if ancestors of opposition ..
leaders came from a different planet. [Methinks, this is an effective counter (given the charged & gullible citizens) to the trope of claiming superiority of race by the Sangh Pariwar.
3. He spoke about federalism. He stressed that Maharashtra is being discriminated against.
4. By giving rustic examples & using native words he expounded the virtues of Maharashtra's inclusive culture. He spoke about the tradition of rejecting discrimination.
5. Important was his attack against MoSha - on Federalism, on exceeding the contours of federalism...
On being power hungry, on being discriminatory, on being selfish, on being unethical, un-Hindu and un-civilized in their quest for absolute power. The framing in earthy Marathi - through out his speech - was exceptional.
6. He tried to separate the RSS from MoSha.
7. He chided RSS for backing MoSha. His veiled attacks on Mohan Bhagwat were a revelation. Considering that people in the know say that UT broke the coalition with BJP after Bhagwat gave him a green signal. [this fascinating story is for another day]
8. What fascinated me was - his liberal take on religion - he said - we are religious, we deeply value religion, but our religious beliefs should be confined to our own homes. When we venture out of our homes - the only religion we should practice is of humanity & nationalism.
9. His liberal praise of Maharashtra police force was to counter the disinformation campaign by BJP's IT Cell coolies to brand Maharashtra & especially @MumbaiPolice as a rogue force. This will go down well with each citizen of Maharashtra. Especially, the police force.
Seldom have I seen a CM take on MoSha's dastardly agenda as effectively as UT.
10. What takes the cake is the fact that he aligned Hindutva with Constitutional principles. Invoked Dr. Ambedkar to say that Hindutva means Constitutional principles. And, not the fake Hindutva of BJP
There's much to say - but You all must be tired of reading this longish thread - UT, distanced himself from the Hindutva propagated by RSS. That for me is the proverbial separation from the 'umbilical cord' with RSS while retaining the connect with his Shiv-Sainiks.

We all may show our exasperation at what's happening with Aryan Khan. Rightly so.

But, remember that, our judicial system cares as much for personal liberty as we care for it's decay.

Bail applications are usually not heard for months.
Aryan's is being heard within 3 days.
Courts grant urgency to anticipatory bail applications, not bail.

If you're sent to jail by a Magistrate, the curtailment of your personal liberty ceases to remain a concern for higher judiciary

You become 1 of the thousands that are languishing. Judiciary is short of manpower
Unless, you're Arnab or Aryan, you would be denied your Constitutional right to equality before law.

So, don't outrage on specific incidents - outrage to seek improvement in the justice delivery system.

Demand a system where matters of personal liberty are granted urgency.

On the eve of #75thIndependenceDay : I want to address fellow citizens: I know I'm inconsequential. I also know that I'm the ultimate source of power. The power of my Corporator, the MLA, the Chief Minister, the Prime Minister, the CJ of my High Court, the CJI ...
All of them assume power from me. They're there to 'serve' me & you.

How would they serve 'us' ??

Well.....

Not at their whims & fancies.

Not at their biases.

Not at their ideological preferences.

All of them are there to serve 'us' - in accordance with the Constitution.
They are enjoying their power, their perks, their luxuries - at 'our' cost.

We slog, we work hard, we live & we pay taxes. The taxes pay for their upkeep. They're there cause 'WE' put them there. They draw their legitimacy from 'us'.

'We' aren't 'subjects' - 'WE' are Masters.

Namaste sada vatsale matrubhume, tvaya hindu bhume sukhamvartitoham......

I sang this every evening when I headed RSS shishu shakha at 12.

It was fun. The evenings, the small little games. The बौद्धिक। Stories of great kings & heroes. The sense of pride, the fulfilment.
Went on for a few months. Then, my ताऊजी got to know that I'm attending Shakha.

ताऊजी was an amazingly simple person. A Brahmin who lived in poverty despite his father being the Chairman of local municipality for 20 years. Despite his father being a person friend of Rajasthan CM
At night, he called me - told me a long story as to how the जांगिया वाले (that's Marwadi for RSS Chaddis) betrayed his father & other freedom fighters, gave info of their whereabouts to Brits & the Brits caught my grandpa along with Hiralal ji Shastri (1st CM of Rajasthan)

How can I not share the real life experiences here on Twitter?

This is an interesting story :

A businessman, resident of the uppest-upscale of Mumbai.

In partnership with a man living in the most downtrodden neighborhood of a small town.

A business partnership.
Strange, you would say. But, it's real. And, it's the India aka Bharat in which we grew up. Not the phony #NewIndia that's being propagated and thrust down our throats.

The Mumbaikar is Hindu & the small town gentleman is Muslim.

They've an inherited business partnership.
Both are multi-millioners.

This is the second generation. The third generation is equally close.

Now, the issue why they needed to visit a 'sasta & 'down-markeet' lawyer like me :

A land was purchased, in Partnership, from an erstwhile Patil in 1970.

The SC has delivered a 32 page interim order, mainly, on Modi's so called Liberalized Vaccination Policy & held that :
the policy for the persons between 18-44 years is, prima facie, arbitrary and irrational.

This thread is a compilation of SC's observations:
We find that the submissions
urged by the Amici are extremely pertinent and have indicated that in practice, the
Liberalized Vaccination Policy may not be able to yield the desired results of spurring
competitive prices and higher quantities of vaccines.
Whether Central Govt conducted a “means-test” of the demographic of a State/UT to assert that 50% of the population in the 18-44
age group would be able to afford the vaccine. If not, the rationale for pvt hospitals being provided an equal quota for procurement as the State/UT
