Writers are always desperate for critical writing feedback.

But no amount of mastering the craft of writing will make up for poor ideas. What you need instead is feedback on your thoughts & ideas.

Here's how to use Twitter to get critical thought feedback 👇🧵
A huge benefit of writing online in a place like Twitter is the intersections of minds that you are exposed to

Every thought you put out has the potential to be seen by countless others. They add their thoughts, ask questions, engage in conversations and the flywheel turns
Consider Twitter your Writing Lab 🧪
As thoughts bubble up from your thinking and note-taking let them bubble up onto Twitter and expose them to the thought collective in the form of tweets, threads or essays.

Then let the experiment begin 👇
Gather Feedback 👍
Every like, comment retweet and DM is a form of feedback. Here's how to collect that feedback to fuel your thoughts & ideas.
Questions ❓
Are people asking questions? Maybe you weren't as clear as you could have been. Or there are follow up ideas you could write.

Use questions as prompts for more writing.
Agreements 😃
Look out for people letting you know what resonated with them. This is an opportunity to expand on that particular thought further.
Disagreements 🙁
No one loves opposing views. But consider these opportunities either to reinforce your thoughts even further or re-think your position.

And you know what? It's totally OK to change your mind on things.
Retweets 🐦
Pay specific attention to quoted retweets. Not only are people broadcasting it to their audience they are also adding their 2c to the conversation.
Don't miss these underrated (& free) feedback signals in your writing process. Use them to:

👉 Add to your existing thoughts
👉 Fuel the fire of more ideas
👉 Create content that resonates

I used to spend 3 hours on a Sunday doing my weekly review like the diligent GTD girl that I am.

I HATED IT. And I skipped most weeks.

Now I take 20 minutes on a Friday afternoon & enjoy my weekends. Here's how 👇🧵
Don't Let Things Pile Up
Every day I'm capturing ideas, notes & tasks. Most afternoons I'll do a quick sweep and get everything into the right place. Consider it like a mental tidy up.

Don't' leave things too long before dealing with them.
Wipe The Slate Clean
I don't roll unfinished tasks automatically into the next week. Every task goes back into the project pile

Because this weeks' priorities might not be next week's priorities. So every task goes into the draw again judged on its ROI, not on its past due date

2️⃣🎉0️⃣🎉0️⃣ Days Of Creating

When I pressed publish on day 1 I thought I was writing 30 essays in 30 days. I had no idea it would completely change my life.

I never imagined I would make it to 200 😱

But here we are with 200 lessons I learned in 200 days of shipping 👇
Before we get into the lessons, there are literally hundreds of friends I want to tag who have been PIVOTAL in this journey. But I shall spare you all the tweetstorm and just say if you're reading this THANK YOU for being here.

Now 200 lessons. Are you ready?
OK, I couldn't NOT shout out these two. I literally wouldn't be writing this if it wasn't for @dickiebush & @Nicolascole77

Endless gratitude 🙏 for the constant support and for the amazing ship30 community you've created.

OK. OK. Onwards to 200 shipping lessons 👇

People often confuse output with effort 🤷🏼‍♀️

Being a creator can be effortless if you find ways to increase your output without your effort. I believe we call that leverage.

Here's what a typical leveraged shipping day looks like for me 👇
First things first... ALWAYS BE BRAIN DUMPING
I am constantly throwing ideas into my ideas list. My only rule is I have to do a brain dump when I have the idea.

And stop sabotaging your ideas before they have a chance to fly. JUST.STOP.OVERTHINKING

It's 5pm.
I'm done.
All I can manage to do is order Uber Eats & pass out on the lounge watching Netflix by 8pm.

👆 This was me most days until I found a way to harness momentum energy

Now I build energy throughout the day rather than deplete it. Here's how 👇🧵
You can either live your days dragging through the wind or you can use the wind to your advantage and let it lift and push you along.

It's all comes down to intentional design 👇
Fuel Your Body
First of all if you are not looking after the basics, none of the following tools will work to increase energy.

Drink water, eat good food, take breaks, hug your doggos.

Creators who master showing up daily are winning against 95% of everyone else

Except showing up daily is hard

Here are 5 secrets I use to show up even on the shitty days 👇🧵
💪 Showing up is like building a muscle...

The more you show up 🙃
👇
the more you build the muscle
👇
& the more you build the muscle
👇
the easier it becomes to show up 🙂

Here's some of my best creative muscle building techniques 👇
Work A Little Overtime On Your Good Days
It's always easy to put in a little extra effort when the creative juices are flowing. On those days:

👉 Do an extra brain dump
👉 Write 10 extra ideas
👉 Research a topic you want to write about

Your future self will thank you later

After 10 years of being a wannabe creator I've 200x'd my creative output in 6 months with one simple hack 👇

I hit publish 200 times 😬

Here's 10 of my best anti-hacks for showing up daily as a creator👇🧵
Focus On Today 📆
Don't worry about tomorrow, next week or 30 days from now. Focus on hitting publish today, then do the same tomorrow and the day after that.

All that matters today is that you hit publish. The numbers will take care of themself.
Trust The Process 🧐
Your day 1 is probably going to suck. You're probably going to be disappointed with how many people engage. You're probably going to think there is something wrong.

There's nothing wrong. You're just early in the process.
