1) What follows in this thread will sting everyone across parties, ideologies, sects, "spiritual paths" in some way: but stinging is not the intention. I have suffered socially for not being able to stop plain-speaking and what I see clearly. This is just plain-speaking.
2) The best way to understand whats going on in BD on Hindus is to grasp the peculiarities of Hindu society as it evolved through the last two invasions. A portion of power seeking Hindus converted, another portion didnt convert, but collaborated. This is the more fatal part.
3) The collaborator "elite" Hindu, had and will always feel threatened by the common Hindu's numbers - and as in every other elite wd seek to differentiate their rites/rituals as somehow superior to that of the commons they fear.
4) The theory of superiority is created to justify the screwing they give to the common Hindu. The detachment both the fear and claim of superiority generate, helps in being unaffected by the suffering of the common Hindu in the hands of the invaders they collaborate with.
5) This detachment in "power" Hindu mindset sees the land, ppl, culture, especially culture of the "folk", ultimately even family members and women demanded by invaders - all tradable commodities. Jihad on common Hindus therefore doesnt really touch a Nehru or a Paramvrata.
6) The "power Hindu" who doesnt convert, but de facto protects the jihadis tandav, as well as lies to whitewash the ideology of jihad that has remained consistent over centuries, is actually seeking the "middleman" arbitrator role - an opportunist, low cost but profitable role.
7) the arbitrator middleman won't convert to mullah side as that wd make it difficult to sway Hindus that he is supposedly also looking after Hindu interests and rights. But s/he will also not look after Hindu rights as that wd make it difficult to curry favour with mullah side.
8) if over time his role is exposed to either side, he will threaten Hindus that if they dont support him he cant/won't "soften" jihadis. He will also threaten mullahs that without him, the Hindus wd no longer be checked and their superior numbers may just clean out jihad forever
9) every invader to Bharat correctly recognize that eliminating the "Hindu" won't be as easy as in their previous conquests and strategy is needed. just as invader jihadis picked out the best candidates to be the "middleman" to play this game, the Brits picked out similar.
10) thus invader "power Hindu" axis develops in their common interest, and in fear of the common Hindu - and what gives common Hindus their strengths - their folk practices, festivals, rites, everything that brings them together, or allows them to see their own strength.
11) British - "power Hindu" axis developed in fear of Marathas, Sikhs, and also of Bengalis - for even if much of their struggles against Brit scum from 18th c is successfully erased - they showed the possibilities of resistance Brits feared. Each zone was taken up separately.
12) MacAuliff's project was to isolate the "Sikh" from the Hindu, and he did his best to create that sense of separation in an elite that survived the last sparks at Chillianwallah. To break Marathas, Brits successfully used "caste". Breaking Bengal needed mullahs.
13) Noting that none of the three projects entirely succeeded, Brits adapted and first hoped "softroaders" (narampanthis) wd win over "hardroaders" (I dont approve the word "charampanthi"), but when it failed at hands of a Maratha-Bengali axis - their hopes rested on Gandhi.
14) Gandhi and Gandhians represent the epitome of middleman arbitrator "power Hindu" in a colonial-post-colonial setting: their fear of the common Hindu remarkably picked up exactly on what the Brits feared - the "hardroaders", and political base of Punjab and Bengal Hindus.
15) in the 1920's British police had cleared the field of all the grassroots leaders thrown up from common Hindu ranks in the UP peasant movements - handing it all effectively in a platter to cronies of Gandhi. So UP henceforth wdnt be a problem.
16) But parts of Sikh/Hindu Punjab and Bengal remained unbroken in spirit. So ultimate solution to unleash mullahs on both. This was successful, by covert arms and preparation for jihad which obviously Brit intel knew as they proved to hv penetrated almost every armed movements.
17) Partition was the ultimate step in "power Hindu" politics that had a shared vision with the Brits and equally hated and sought to destroy the political basis of its deemed "enemies" through engineered demographic disaster supplemented by judicial and legislative repression.
18)Even within the Sikhs or Bengali Hindus, one might see the "power Hindu" fears in how it differently treats segments: the police will be very polite to a proud killer of "religion insult" while they will unleash bullets to the "lower/folk" more common segments of the same.
19) Between the Sikhs and Bengali Hindus, Bengali Hindus are hated and feared even more by the "power Hindu". There cd be various reasons, geographical proximity of Sikhs to what "power Hindu" considers its "true homeland", and therefore useful bodyguard ag the very collaborators
20) a shared or fostered by invaders racial prejudice over the Bengali Hindu, (with little real basis), but probably most crucially the belief in the capacity of the Bengali Hindu of innovating politically and ideologically to hoped-not claim to national power.
21) Thus protecting the mullah base on both sides of the border in WB and BD will be a key policy goal of any "power Hindu" rising in the "western/northern" reaches of the land. Its the jihadi when totally protected by the country govs that can stall the Bengali Hindu.
22) Does it mean the sun has set for the Bengali Hindu? Not if some critical questions asked and consensus answer developed. Erasure of the Bengali Hindu will signal erasure of the resistant strains of the Hindu. Temples, rituals hv never proved capable of protecting themselves.
23) Bengali Hindus must realize that they must control or construct a modern nation state power committed to protecting Hindus and their practices, and not just within its own borders. If it can only be done within own borders, expand borders to include those under alien rule.
24) Bengali Hindus best trajectory is not to go alone, not allow the "power Hindu" to hijack the narrative to isolate them more - but build links to others within the existing nation. At the same time not to go the other extreme of giving up on identity to appease.
25) Start a strict identification and labeling of voices and everywhere around in society : those who don't support the primacy of protecting the Hindu are not Hindu, they don't "belong". Try and make them feel they don't belong. This mental and social rejection is a first step.
26) Refuse to accept the demand that Hindus must not exercise the right to defend themselves physically in whatever way they can when attacked. Isolate and expose any ldr, think-tankie, admin or judicial voice that says otherwise.
27) Look at how to cut resource routes that supply the enemy. Many of them go through India. Identify institutions, companies, personnel involved. Take measures to neutralize their activity. Use these resources to build up your own infrastructure. Jihadis grew on same sources.
28) difficulty Bengali Hindus will face is the hyperactive "power Hindu" admin/intel that will intervene very actively to prevent them acquiring capabilities of defence - something that "power Hindu" are pretty relaxed on when it comes to jihadis given latter's rampage.
29) funding will be another issue: this is why own enterprises, and collections will be important. Taking over revenue streams that fund the enemy, is important. Presence in admin/intel/judiciary is important. Pretend to be secular if necessary to get in. Help the cause once in.
30) rituals, festivals important, but they can't protect themselves. They need muscles of living humans to continue. Disengagement no solution. Bengali Hindus need to be part of the state structures while keeping their underlying cause sacrosanct. Everyone's contribution matters.
31) Corruption and betrayal perverts the course of many national movements or movements of reassertion. This has to be fought at both practical and ideological level. If Bengali Hindus can commit to this nation-state building goal, all the other obstacles can be overcome.
32) Bengali Hindus will find it difficult to go all alone: best to make it a project of refounding of the nation - a task left incomplete by the transfer of power. You will need the resources of the current state to refound the nation and thereby achieve what you need.
33) the "power Hindu" will obstruct creation of safe zones or autonomous or independent territories for Bangladeshi Hindus - or even them acquiring defensive capabilities. One of the reasons, anti-Bengali Hindu sentiments are protected in NE. That doesnt mean they hv to surrender
34) the "power Hindu" agenda for controlling the Bengali Hindu extends to de facto protecting fanning of anti-Bengali Hindu sentiments in entire NE so that the Bangladeshi Hindu can't escape the killing fields. This has to be subverted. That zone is ideal for this path.
35) "Virbhogya vasundhara": but buddhi, ranakaushal, kutaniti play an equal role. Nothing is unachievable. If there is commitment.

1) My sensibility stops me from bashing her in time of mourning. Madhav however is not in ashaucha. No statesman shd hv folded hands to what she is saying. And any who does fold hands, is fatal for the nation. Here is why:
2) whatever strand of Hindu one might follow, one way or the other the “spirit” indeed is deemed “na hanyate hanyamane sharire”. But that is not an escape route for as long as human reproduction continues, wherever you lie on the “atheist-theist” spectrum, you hv to accept life.
3) whether it is your theist belief of a purpose for which you had to take birth, or atheist belief of accident, a living society is one which holds on to your unique individual characteristics, through memory and continuity - which in turn grow out of your living and life.

A bemused take on the place-identity link to claims of social status. Sometimes its a compensation of a hidden sense of inferiority. This manifests in Islamic attempt at erasing pre-Islamic cultures they raided by renaming their places
outsideonline.com/culture/essays…
But the sense of inherent inferiority complex becomes obvious in Islamic attempt at denying that the places they raided had a distinct geography and place-linked culture and tried to impose their "home-place" identity by name alone or by destroying pre-existing cultural symbols.
It showed that they actually found their festishized "home-place" inferior in things that they desired, so that they didnt return to that cherished superior home-place rather occupied the territories they feigned to look down upon. To compensate, home-place had to be eulogised.

@MaharashtraDhrm @From_Himalaya @bidesh_desh @abhivaarta @maidros78 @RituRathaur @DuttaSoumyojit @Aban__Ind No need to stop at Satavahana: u cd make even the Mauryas marathas. Its a bit tiring as I am reluctant to fuel the regional supremacy bit. It took a lot of goading for you to, even obliquely, acknowledge that first Maratha raid into Bengal was to replace one jihadi with another.
@MaharashtraDhrm @From_Himalaya @bidesh_desh @abhivaarta @maidros78 @RituRathaur @DuttaSoumyojit @Aban__Ind The fact that u wr aware of this came in ur tweets first trying to pass it off as "tormented Afghan muslim appeal", but well, Mir Habib's name was a lot difficult to spell out. I wd hv expected this straight right at the beginning. Thats how history is falsified for false pride.
@MaharashtraDhrm @From_Himalaya @bidesh_desh @abhivaarta @maidros78 @RituRathaur @DuttaSoumyojit @Aban__Ind Rabindranath was a "sir" for some time, but if he is the sole cane to whip Bengal with, then u shd also respect his sentiments in relinquishing the title: so not refer to him by his "prior" title that he rejected. But lets go deeper into the poet.

@abhivaarta @Aban__Ind @bidesh_desh @From_Himalaya What is really the issue here? will everyone be happy if its said, no no all mollahs in Bengal are converted indigenous Bong Hindus or Bong Buddhists and a proof of how bad Bong hindus are? Muslim "migration into Bengal" was a hot topic in Pakistanyat campaign days.
@abhivaarta @Aban__Ind @bidesh_desh @From_Himalaya Migration will be as difficult to "give source material" on, just as even the so-called contemporary Mughlai censuses have not been handed down in their "sources", and summaries still led to at least 4 different estimates of population numbers, forget demographic details.
@abhivaarta @Aban__Ind @bidesh_desh @From_Himalaya The few studies primarily agree that it was scum Mughlai consolidation in Bengal that coincides with relatively rapid growth in Muslim mumbers in Bengal, but even then after scum Brit advent, the early Brit censuses don't show mullah majority.

@MaharashtraDhrm @From_Himalaya @bidesh_desh @abhivaarta @maidros78 @RituRathaur @DuttaSoumyojit @MNageswarRaoIPS @Aban__Ind The history of convenience perhaps. Reality is territorial differences that made a Maratha military push-back possible whereas, even if Bengal tried, with exception of its western difficult terrain like it could not resist the combined Mughal-Rajput armies on flat lands.
@MaharashtraDhrm @From_Himalaya @bidesh_desh @abhivaarta @maidros78 @RituRathaur @DuttaSoumyojit @MNageswarRaoIPS @Aban__Ind Both Marathas and Bengal had started off in similar positions in 17th c. Please dont foregt that Marathas were very much part of mullah regimes and armies and therefore "collaborators" after fall of Devagiri Yadavs for nearly 300 years.
@MaharashtraDhrm @From_Himalaya @bidesh_desh @abhivaarta @maidros78 @RituRathaur @DuttaSoumyojit @MNageswarRaoIPS @Aban__Ind Again within that, any token resistance was deep in the difficult western narrow strips of the Ghats (Ghatmatha) but the flatter "Desastha" maratha groups largely joined the regional sultanate forces. Compared to Ghats, western Bengal has relatively simpler terrain, yet

1) They r playing innocent kids caught stealing the pie in making evacuation fiasco the whole issue: while the issue is that US poisoned the whole subcontinent to poison Russia, and then fled without cleaning up their poison. This is what Biden admin shd be marked for, forever.
2) the evacuation failures are an operational issue, as obviously not planned well in advance, not thought out for consequences and possible knowingly ignoring ground intel or more maliciously, preventing proper response because of hidden objectives.
3) However, this is a smaller fault, a fault of ignorance - which is unbelievable as an excuse for the level of intel US collects, or a fault of cynical ideological and shortsighted real-politik biases without thinking of long term consequences or concern for even "friends".
