The first examples of targeting and victimization were justified - by the officers themselves - by their disagreement with my political decisions. There were no substantive consequences for those actions, and in fact the LPS hid the disciplinary process from me!
Over the years, there’s been more garbage behaviour, up until recent weeks. It has never subsided. It has never let up.
No one local person has ever sent the message that there are real consequences or real deterrents for @lethpolice systemic targeting of me.

In fact, the Lethbridge Police Service and the hapless Commission that enables them have defended these actions, even as more and more questionable conduct has been revealed, even up to and including just a few weeks ago.
It’s not ancient history. I’m afraid for my security due to things that have occurred within the past few weeks.
Has anyone at the Commission or the Councillors that sit on that Commission ever talked to me or the public about this long list of assaults on democracy? No.

Not a word from any of them. Their literal job description is civilian oversight of police. It’s more like civilian overlook.
This stuff drives people out of politics. It’s time parties, govts, leaders and the courts grapple with the corrosive effect that has on our democracy.
