10 eCommerce tips that will make you at least 100k this BFCM
I shouldn't be giving away this for free...
🧵
1. Full focus on growing your email
Email subscribers spend 138% more on average than non-subscribers.
So, the most powerful tactic to prioritize now is building your audience.
A bigger list means more revenue over the holiday period.
So make sure you have your embedded sign up forms on the footer or header of your store as well as your checkout opt-in in place to passively collect email subscribers
Both tactics mentioned above are excellent
But the best way to supercharge your email acquisition efforts in my opinion
Is to use pop-ups that offer an incentive in exchange for signing up
Test your creatives, offers, behavioral settings, and targeting in order to maximize conversions
As you get closer to BFCM the promise of early access to Black Friday, Cyber Monday deals can be a good incentive.
Other list growth tactics:
- Shoppable product quizzes.
- Facebook lead x Klaviyo
2. Take advantage of your past year's data
Analyzing past performance will give you valuable insights for future planning.
Look at the campaigns and flows with the highest open and click rates from the last year to identify key themes:
Subject lines
Call-to actions
Email design and creative elements
Double down on what worked and get rid of what didn't
3. Model your competition ( wink, wink )
After looking at your past performance and understanding how your audience performed it's time to look around for some ideas in your neighborhood.
Pay close attention to the frequency, timing, and offers of your competitors’ email strategies.
And apply what you think may work for your brand.
4. Entice your audience with irresistible promotions
Based on past experience with my clients I've found the sweet spot for promos is somewhere between 25-35% off.
Anything under 20% isn’t worth a consumer’s time
They can likely get 10-15% from signing up for your email list most of the year.
And anything over 35% will hurt your margins
Tiered offers that require a higher spend to unlock greater savings is also one of the best options to go for.
5. Get your emails open
All your carefully planned promos & perfect designs mean nothing if your subscribers don’t see them.
So use your subject lines to drive urgency, communicate the depth of discounts, and generate excitement!
6. Early Black Friday Deals
Use underutilized holidays like the Single's Day (Nov. 11) or the Veteran's day and, of course Thanksgiving day
To maximize your holiday revenue.
7. It's Black Weekend, not Black Friday
Extending your Black Friday sale will keep conversions coming.
8. Cyber Monday = Urgency
To keep shoppers coming back, give better deals paired with urgency
For someone who didn’t convert on Black Weekend, this may be the extra motivation they need.
9. Be clear
The strongest holiday campaigns are typically the easiest to understand.
On average more than 160,000,000 emails are sent on Black Friday so if your email doesn’t get right to the point, you'll lose conversions.
10. Turn Holiday Shoppers into Loyal Customers
We're doing nothing if we only acquire 1x buyers without turning them into repeated buyers
It will lead to unprofitability and lots of stress for you and your team
Use Post-Purchase Flows to retain and leverage your holiday purchasers increasing their CLTV and reducing chargebacks
And that's it these are my 10 tips for BFCM
