Of ALL the things Facebook could be working on right now, why is building a virtual reality world even a priority?

-Protect people’s personal data. This of course would require a change in their model of using people’s information to sell things to them but this is what the public wants and their current model is highly unethical.

Why would we surrender our trust to Zuckerberg's "metaverse" when time and time again, he's failed us? Also, when we look around at the polarization of society, is this really what any of us need?
Virtual reality is not the same as REAL LIFE. Our focus as a society should be fixing our world HERE instead of going into fantasy worlds.
Our kids should be playing with other kids, not with screens.
