It’s World Mental Health Day, and I’ve talked about this before: For me, running has been one of the most successful tools I have to live a happy life with my bipolar—along with medication and therapy. Getting a run in like I did today, and I just *know* I’m re-centering myself.
Over time, I learned that other types of exercise worked basically just as well for me, but it was the running that really started me on a path to finding happiness living with my diagnosis. Of course, for me, quitting drinking (years after I’d been running) helped a ton, too.
