1. Informs public spike protein is dangerous.
2. Documents steps taking in vaccine development to neutralize danger.

The alteration was done to make the spike protein of the vaccine stiff, rather than floppy, to generate a stronger immune response. Safety was not the motive for the changes which were part of the mRNA.

On July 6, 2021, I posted a thread asking if the variants of SARS-COV-2 had mutations of the spike protein, since only mutations of the spike protein might frustrate immune response...
