in other news paternity leave is going well. wife needs a lot of support, owen jr is both herculean and high IQ (like plato, whose name meant ‘the broad one’). sadly doglet (seen below previously) was traumatized by boarding, she is sad but improving, we’re all “gonna make it”
wife dislikes me telling people IRL how big owen jr is. i have to tell u before i return to my sabbatical. he is huge. not fat. broad. herculean. he was [noticeably] [way bigger] than the other babies in the hospital. he is already milkmaxxing. i am very proud. its very epic. yes
didnt mention it obviously as ur not tuned in for my BLOG but we were stuck in the NICU for a while, however we escaped. this time delayed my wife healing from some things so i’ll return at some point soon. idk why i made this a thread but keeping this notice at the top. vibe on.

update: i have not left the hospital room, which is nice, for some time. wife and i were discussing unconditional love / soulmates. i asked her if i were a duck, would she still love me. the same way. she said no. going to put that on the back burner rn but that hurt ngl.

relevant to my current endeavors is that you are deeply propagandized about this issue without realizing it. they take you into a room in high school and show you a horror film where everyone is screaming with zero context and thats the first and only time many people see birth.
also the way people talk about it. people talk to and about pregnant women as though there is something wrong with them, or, more accurately, as though they are going through a medical [pathology]. after being in this world for some time it has honestly been insane to unpack.
i would like to explore this topic with the other men here at some time but at this moment i am once again (appropriately) driving to the nearest city state for natalbaby inspection.

while it is true, and i cant say what its like studying this in a proper cohesive context, ie within a lineage of esoteric buddhism, for me the missing piece is slightly platonic - in that, yes, a whale arises as a result of many other factories external to the whale. thats true

this is what oversocialization is btw. anything that trips the “thats not what youre supposed to be doing” wire sets off abject panic and rage (and fear) instantly. theres no sliding scale - your perception of social norms become a binary.
its basically impossible to function now in normal society (for most of you, i know many of u know this) without understanding the thought process here. this person did not hear the words and assess them. its “he said something not positive about the thing” wired to “hes INSANE”.
people you deal with like this are not responding to information. they are responding to sensation (the sensation and feeling of being uncomfortable). you cannot reason someone out of a sensation, because its an intrinsic feeling reaction. this is not necessarily intuitive.

alright im stuck in my car rn and trying not to wake my wife up so its time for a thread on terrence mckenna. might have to pause at some point but lets do it.
so, if you dont know you can look him up, but he’s basically [the] mushroom guy. if you’re into mushrooms you would know who he is. mainly his ideas were disseminated in talks and a few books, he has a few interlocking theories about life, the mind, the universe, mushrooms, etc.
i suppose in the current popular “spiritual stuff” domain he would be most well known for coining the term “machine elf” for the beings people often see on dmt. he was an early DMT guy in the sense that he was talking about it when it was still ostensibly difficult to find.

its my own view of course, but that isnt why. the process just doesnt work the way he hypothesized it to. honestly, i did it. i took normal people to art spaces and to the woods and gave them acid and they eventually go back to being the same or just become more “how they are”.
i was thinking about timothy leary recently because someone brought up terrence mckenna, and i kind of view them as a one two step process. they were both ultimately wrong for different reasons, i dont even really hold it against them personally, they just didnt have the data.
its easy to imagine being a certain type of person and taking acid and then thinking, wow, we just need everyone to take this. but that didnt work, and whats mostly interesting for me about the space is that you still have people acting like this massive experiment never happened
