@veggie64_leslie He is. He was dating a 911 dispatcher and not telling his wife he was fired by the Sheriff and criminally charged. I was talking with a @MontereyHerald reporter about it casually (@grlreporter) and she ends up calling the local DA who was sitting on it. Now they are worried about
@veggie64_leslie @MontereyHerald @grlreporter how it looks because the Herald is going to write about it and, back in the day, of their is a local reporter I love more than @Calkins_Royal, it's Julie Reynolds. She is the most honest reporter I have ever met. The most honest.

So Berk Brannon, a Deputy DA, runs out to the
@veggie64_leslie @MontereyHerald @grlreporter @Calkins_Royal .@MCoSheriff department and pulls the file on Banuelos. Brannon goes back to his office and ADDS a felony to the complaint and tells Sheriff Miller that there is so much proof that two felonies took place he added another.

Then the case sits. Miller is defeated by this crook
@veggie64_leslie @MontereyHerald @grlreporter @Calkins_Royal @MCoSheriff Sheriff Bernal and the disgustingly corrupt Board of Supervisors (except for @supervisoraskew, and @AdamsSupervisor) @PhillipsForSupe gets the County to work Banuelos' rehire as a settlement of a civil action the slime bag brought for being fired.

BUT, before than the felonies.
@veggie64_leslie @MontereyHerald @grlreporter @Calkins_Royal @MCoSheriff @supervisoraskew @AdamsSupervisor @PhillipsForSupe Banuelos goes to court and it's the usual multiple hearings (sort of like @RepJimmyPanetta's cousin) and the case is being heard by, this man:
@veggie64_leslie @MontereyHerald @grlreporter @Calkins_Royal @MCoSheriff @supervisoraskew @AdamsSupervisor @PhillipsForSupe @RepJimmyPanetta Judge Russ Scott has near zero integrity, in my opinion, has spiked a number of cases, again in my opinion and based on interviews I've conducted and was a key figure in the bouncing of another local judge, Mike Fields. They were all allegedly abusing a court clerk, sexually and
@veggie64_leslie @MontereyHerald @grlreporter @Calkins_Royal @MCoSheriff @supervisoraskew @AdamsSupervisor @PhillipsForSupe @RepJimmyPanetta reputationally (and local media went with the judges essentially calling the female clerk "a slut"). How's that for a #MeToo moment in all this?

So Russ Scott kills the Banuelos case without much opposition (read zero) from our local DA. And the people were being represented
@veggie64_leslie @MontereyHerald @grlreporter @Calkins_Royal @MCoSheriff @supervisoraskew @AdamsSupervisor @PhillipsForSupe @RepJimmyPanetta by Gary Thelander who shortly thereafter left the DA and opened up his own Better Call Saul shop in a house next to the courthouse.

We have problems in Monterey County.

Our press is asleep at the wheel.

It was stories like this that inspired me to run Scott Miller for Sheriff against a sleazy Mike Kanalakis and the entire political apparatus of the County of Monterey.

Judge dismisses charges against man left overnight in courthouse holding cell montereyherald.com/2010/01/30/jud…
2/ "Judge Tom Wills agreed with Public Defender Jim Egar that 21-year-old Elisha McCoy deserved to be cleared because of the mistake by the Monterey County Sheriff”s Office."
3/ "Chief Assistant District Attorney Terry Spitz argued against the dismissal, suggesting the judge could take McCoy”s treatment into consideration at sentencing if he decided to plead guilty or was convicted at trial."

For those local folks watching this drama play out with politics, my exceptional inside information, and the local power structure - know this - this is all well accepted practices, the calling out, the naming, the informing on those in power who let us down.

After @chief_filice
2/ swearing in at the @CityofSalinas, and even though I muttered "embarrassing" under my breath while sitting next to Salinas' best asst. City Manager (Jim Pia) - I headed over to the Bruce Taylor Starbucks Pavilion where I exchanged pleasantries, actually normal, hey neighbor
3/ hellos with several @SalinasPD good cops. Everything was fine and we all enjoyed our Taylor coffee.

Thanks Bruce, you prick. 😂

The point is, the dialogue is what matters. Less secrecy when it comes to the powerful, matters. More transparency will lead to great things here

Did you see @JoeLivernois' former employer at the @carmelpinecone, Paul Miller, writing a load of bullshit regarding @SheriffBernal's sudden and cowardly retirement claim?

First, Paul Miller "the journalist" says he doesn't know much about Bernal and that Bernal is inaccessible
2/ but goes on to attribute Bernal leaving with the fat pension the former deputy will receive which Paul Miller calculated at $166,000 per year for life.

That ignores all the fat cats and sleazy consultants like @RepJimmyPanetta's Plasha Will and all that has gone on since
3/ Bernal's election in 2014. I knew Paul Miller's editorials lean toward the wacky - like when he went after @maryrduan for winning $3.2 million dollars in the lottery versus just going after the @mcweekly's version of journalism - but in the end a majority of MoCo journalism is

Fun Seaside / Sand City fact:

Eric Dickerson had an interest in a note that was an asset of yet another Ponzi scheme "trust deeds" conman, named Don Lukens. Dickerson was a victim.
*note held a fractional share of interest in a piece of real property on the beach side of Hwy 1.
2/ That note ended up in the hands of a #Salinas based conman named Gerry Kehoe, @CASenCaballero's landlord when she first ran for State office.

Kehoe was and is an out of town loser from Key West FL, 🤔.

The OG conman, Lukins, is from Oxnard, CA.

The then Salinas City mgr
3/ working directly with Gerry Kehoe and, improperly, @CASenCaballero?

CM David Mora.

Dave had been the CM of Oxnard prior to landing at the @CityofSalinas.

Gerry Kehoe miraculously ends up with this "asset" which he buys out of Federal Bankruptcy Court in San Jose CA.

Regarding the story of @SalinasPD getting @chief_filice as it's new #Salinas CA police chief, @ksbw ran down a list of all the law enforcement CEO's bailing on their jobs, locally.

@CarmelPD fmr. Chief Tomasi left to become head of security for the @MontereyAq.
2/ That's interesting because @Calkins_Royal reported on the @CarmelBTSea hiring a former Carmel cop to write a report on a spousal abuse investigation re/ Sheriff Steve Bernal's brother.

That cop? Bill Uretsky. Bill Uressky's brother, a former cop, was head of security for the
3/ Monterey Bay Aquarium. It's as though the @juliepackard run non-profit is a jobs creator for political insiders. Seems fair, right?

And Julie Packard's sister, Nancy Burnett, whose son Jason Burnett was mayor of Carmel for a minute, sold a 17 acre Carmel Valley property

The statements made today by @chief_filice were embarrassing to the residents of the @CityofSalinas. Filice has been the acting Chief for a little over two months because of @AdeleFrese's extended vacation and the only question Sara Rubin of the @mcweekly asked him was about
2/ a crisis in staffing and then a follow up by @MontereyHerald reporter @wrightscribe about ... morale, or staffing? There were three questions total from the "press" one from the Weekly and another from the Monterey Herald. None of them hit the point that #Salinas is a city in
3/ crisis. Does the new Chief live in #Salinas?

We have a sheriff running away from office - 14 months ahead of time and a County Seat that is in trouble - that being #Salinas - the largest city in Monterey County.

As usual there was a lot of talk about how much the community
