How to know if she's THE ONE?

Very few people know right away if someone is the right one. It takes time.

This is what I would tell my sons:
Make a list of qualities your looking for in a wife. It could be 5 or 50. Rank them in order of importance to you.

Know what you're looking for.
Don't share your list with anyone. You'll be judged.
Make a list of non-negotiables.

What will you NOT bend on?

Hold your ground on these.
Then, go on a lot of first dates.
When she seems right, ask her out on a second date.

Keep asking her out until you uncover a non-negotiable.

Date her until she shows you she's not the one.
Don't have expectations. That's too much pressure.

The more you date, the more you get to know her, the closer you'll be to knowing if she's right for you.
It takes time. Be patient. Some people try to rush the process.

They commit too soon.
They have sex too soon.
They become vulnerable too soon.
Some even get married too soon.

Patience.
Dating should be fun and exciting.

Scary. But good scary.

Your feelings and emotions will be deeper than almost anything else you do. Ever.

Embrace it. Own it.
And sometimes, lightning strikes.

I knew my wife was the one, almost immediately.

How???
Bank tellers are trained to handle and recognize real bills over and over again, so they can more easily spot the fake ones.

I'd been on dozens of first dates. Maybe 100! I'd seen so many who I KNEW weren't 'the one' that when I found her, I knew SHE WAS.

BUT...
Just because I knew, didn't mean SHE knew. It's a process.

We dated for 9 months before I asked her to marry me.

We were engaged for another 9 months before we sealed our covenant.

It take time.
Don't rush it.
Enjoy it.
Be curious.

But most importantly, be patient.

The problems you think you have, some people are praying for.

// a thread 🧵 Image
I pray every day that God would send someone to our gate who we can help.

Last week, God sent Carlos.
Carlos is 23 and has had epileptic seizures most of his life.

He explained that they started to get worse six months ago. He now has 20 seizures a month.

The BIGGEST time suck that everyone does. Including you.

// a thread🧵 (and a story about Bitcoin)
It's midnight and you're halfway through the newly released Netflix series Squid Game.

You pause long enough to negotiate with yourself.

"Just one more episode. I've pulled all nighters before. Hell, I practically majored in them in college!"
One episode turns into two and before you know it, you're like a coke addict coming off a 7 day binge.

It's 5:30am, your eyes are bleeding and your work alarm is about to go off.

"DAMN. I'm screwed."

Everything your dad should have taught you about investing but didn't.

// a thread
My dad worked hard.

At 18 he started working in the gold and silver mines of Leadville Colorado, alongside my grandfather.

He never invested in the stock market and he never contributed to an IRA.

Obviously, my dad never taught me to invest, so it never crossed my mind.
Covid hit in early 2020 and I took the opportunity to reinvent myself.

At 54 years old I started my first Twitter account and by chance, some of the people I followed posted about money & investing.

I'd entered the world of Money Twitter...

on accident.

3 ways I messed up that you can avoid...right now.

//tiny thread
- Get healthy

You can pay now or pay later but everyone pays.

The price is steep when you're older.

Things you might not think about:

• drink more water (1oz for every 2lbs you weigh)
• get enough sleep (7-8 hours a night)
• meditate 10 minutes a day
- Create additional streams of income. There's so much opportunity it's insane.

Think bigger. An additional $10K, $20K or $50K a month is possible.

Improve your mindset.
