Groundnut does not cause pimples.
Oily food does not cause pimples.
During puberty the production of testosterone increases in both sexes. Testosterone is taken up into the sebaceous glands where it is converted into dihydrotestosterone which stimulates the glands to secrete increased sebum (sebum is the oily secretion of the sebaceous gland-
-which helps in protecting the skin.) Pimples results when there is blockage of skin pores which prevents this sebum from draining to the skin surface.
This trapped sebum and it accumulation results in swelling of the skin surface which is what we call “pimples”.
Have u asked yourself why is it that some ppl eat groundnuts everyday and rarely have pimples or don’t even have it at all while some people don’t even eat groundnuts at all but still suffer from serious pimples ?
This is because there is no food whatsoever that causes pimples.
Some people think groundnut or oily food causes pimples because of the oily substance that comes out of pimples but this still is false as oily food or groundnut does not cause pimples.
Predisposing factors to pimples include:
1. Family history
If members of your family have pimples, there is high chance you are going to have it too.
2. High testosterone levels
This is why pimples is seen majorly during puberty and you might not have pimples before then. This is because there is increase in testosterone levels during puberty which in turn is converted to dihydrotestosterone in the sebaceous glands, dihydro-
-testosterone now stimulates the increase production of sebum, when the skin pores are blocked this sebum becomes trapped and accumulates leading to swelling known as pimples.
This high testosterone levels may also account for why some people who had serious pimples during puberty may stop having them at age 30. It simply resolves on it own in these people.
It’s very important you know that too much of anything in particular is bad for you. Same goes for groundnut and oily foods. But whether groundnut and oily foods cause pimples or not is not up for debate. They DON’T cause pimples.

How to effectively use your drugs (Omeprazole and Antacids) :
.If you have ulcer and you are making use of Omeprazole, take it before eating.
.If you are using antacids (eg Mismag) take it before eating especially if you also experience heartburn and/or indigestion.
.If you are using Omeprazole and an antacid, take the antacid and give space of at least 3hrs before taking the omeprazole. If you are to take the omeprazole first, space it for at least 2hrs before taking the antacid.
This is because taking them together or at a time will result in drug-drug interaction.
