Eating groundnuts or peanuts do not cause pimples. Pimples results when their is blockage of skin pores to the outflow of sebum (an oily secretion of the sebaceous gland which protects the skin).
This trapped sebum and it accumulation results in swelling of the skin surface which is what we call “pimples”.
Hormones play an interesting role in pimples. This explains why most people start having pimples at puberty and might not have experienced it before then, this may also account for why some people stop having pimples at age 30.
At puberty there is high level of testosterone in the body. Testosterone gets taken up into the sebaceous glands where it is converted into dihydrotestosterone which stimulates the glands to secrete increased sebum, when this sebum is prevented from draining out on the skin due-
-to blockage of the skin pores, pimples results. Ask yourself why some people eat groundnuts everyday and don’t have pimples and while some don’t eat it all and still deal with pimples everyday.
Don’t pop your pimples or that of someone else, you might be tempted to do that but you may make it worse. Popping your pimples can result in acne scars or make things even worse. Pimples usually resolve on their own and are not usually serious, if yours is, consider seeing your-
-healthcare provider about that. Pimples don’t have a cure but it can be treated, it can be managed so it doesn’t disturb you. In some people it clears totally when treated, others outgrow it even without any medication.
Your ear cleans itself, you don’t need a cotton bud. Using cotton bud on the ears can harm delicate structures in your ears. What do you then use cotton bud for ? You can use it to clean spare parts. If you have persistent earwax or smelly ears, it only indicates there is an-
-ongoing infection. It means you should see your healthcare provider about that. Same goes if you constantly have itchy ears.
Don’t take NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs eg felvin, diclofenac, ibuprofen etc) on an empty stomach. It should be taken with food. Don’t miss that. Eat before taking that felvin. When you take them on an empty stomach they can irritate your stomach increasing your-
-chances of coming down with ulcer.
If you already have ulcer and you continuously do this, it can result in gastrointestinal bleeding.
In some people who are asthmatic, taking aspirin can result in what is known as “aspirin-induced asthma” (AIA) i.e aspirin-induced asthmatic attack. As such if you are asthmatic it is better you stay off aspirin.
You are not to use milk to take antibiotics especially Ciprofloxacin. Using milk or dairy products to take antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin can make them less effective than they should be or totally ineffective.
You are not to suppress a sneeze. Worse case scenario ? You die.
Don’t suppress a sneeze, when you do that you force back that pressurized air to your eardrums, in some cases, it’s strong enough to harm your eardrums. When you feel like sneezing, get a handkerchief and sneeze. Don’t suppress your sneeze, it is bad for you.

How to effectively use your drugs (Omeprazole and Antacids) :

.If you have ulcer and you are making use of Omeprazole, take it before eating.
.If you are using antacids (eg Mismag) take it before eating especially if you also experience heartburn and/or indigestion.
.If you are using Omeprazole and an antacid, take the antacid and give space of at least 3hrs before taking the omeprazole. If you are to take the omeprazole first, space it for at least 2hrs before taking the antacid.
This is because taking them together or at a time will result in drug-drug interaction.
