LRT - ...Well, now I kinda want a time-travel fic where WWX goes back to the very early days of the Sunshot Campaign.

He promptly FLATTENS the Wens, casually disposes of WRH and his sons, arranges for JGS to 'accidentally fall off a cliff', and claims the Dafan Wens as his own.

...And he accidentally winds up as the new Sect Leader for the rebuilt/restructured Wen clan, which is not what he was going for AT ALL, and now he's like

Now, I don't know what period WWX is coming FROM.

Post-resurrection means he's a lot more psychologically stable, but it also means he probably wants to get back to his own timeline.

Pre-death means he's pretty damn unstable, but he also might not want to go back.

...I kinda want to say that he gets thrown back in time from the moment he was falling off the cliff, which is why he immediately goes on a murder spree.

For added angst/potential happy ending, we could say he goes back to the moment JUST before JC loses his core?

I don't know. I just kind of enjoy the idea that WWX is half-feral at this point, but desperate to take advantage of this 'do over' and save everybody he loves.

So he single-handedly wipes out all potential enemies and threats.

...And then he has to deal with the fact that everyone is now looking at him like

Random cultivator: Gasp! Such power! Are you trying to topple the Wen sect so you can rebuild it in your own image and name yourself Sect Leader?!

WWX: What?! No!

Random cultivator: HEY EVERYBODY. WEI WUXIAN IS TRYING TO BUILD A NEW SECT FOR HIMSELF.

Everyone else: 🤯😱😬

Naturally, the Lans start having Very Serious Discussions about what they should do about all this.

I mean. Cloud Recesses was just burned. Lotus Pier was just attacked, and Sect Leader Jiang and Madam Yu killed. JGS is 'missing and presumed dead'.

Everything's in an uproar.

Nobody is SORRY that the war-mongering Wens were wiped off the map. But that WWX kid is displaying some terrifying and heretofore unknown power, and apparently he's taking over what remains of the Wen sect, and everyone is more than a little nervous.

What should we do? How can we work to keep him in check? How can we get to the bottom of what's going on with WWX, and make sure he doesn't turn out to be a second WRH? How can we stabilize the political situation, and get the resources we need to rebuild?!

Anyway. I think someone, somewhere utters the words 'marriage alliance' and LWJ is like

LWJ, already packing: Yes. We obviously need a marriage alliance.

LXC and LQR: ...

LWJ: For the sake of our clan and the cultivation world, I volunteer.

LXC and LQR: ...

LWJ: [finishes dumping his clothes into a trunk and slams it shut]

LWJ: I can leave immediately. :)

Anyway. I do think this is probably more angst than comedy, at least to begin.

I think WWX is still basically feral, wracked with grief and guilt even though JC has his core, and JYL is alive, and WQ and WN are alive.

And I think WWX doesn't even know what to do with the fact that HE has a core again. I think he's skirting along the edge of a complete psychological breakdown, and holding it together only because he's determined to protect the Wens this time around.

And I think he views LWJ with considerable suspicion, when he turns up to be the husband of the new 'Sect Leader Wei'.

But I think he can't quite forget the cliff: how LWJ tried desperately to pull him up, how he refused to let WWX go.

How LWJ was bleeding and exhausted, his family calling for WWX's death.

How he still tried to keep WWX from falling.

And I don't know what happens after that!

This is a fix-it concept, so there's some type of happy ending. But I have too many WIPs as it is, so that's as far as I'm taking this idea. I just think it would be Neat™.
