Sure, VR stuff is goofy and niche...NOW

But in 2021 attractive young women who aren't pizza faced arcade nerds make great money playing videogames for people to watch, and thousands more watch more prototypical teams take home millions from a billions of dollars esports industry
Maybe the framing of pretty women vs. nerds is "problematic"

I'm just calling it as I see it. In 1970 people spending lots of time on computers were fugly dorks. By 2010 the hottest status symbol for hot girls was an iphone. Gaming and crypto have gone the same way, even faster.
Like a gentrifying neighborhood, racing, etc., it's fair to say the presence of women, particularly attractive young women, signals something isn't just being 'commodified', but coming into it's own, becoming part of human culture, literally perpetuated in reproductive adjacency.
Probably the best signal of a thing's importance is a flock of young women wanting to be seen as associated with it. A neighborhood is trendy, a style in fashion, a restaurant hip, a *man* high status, iff so.

I think 'fugly dorks' (whom I love) get hung up/bitter about this
Often, radically divergent, interesting, powerful things come at great personal cost/risk or were in some sense a retreat from the mainstream - I'm not describing anything new here, you can find endless essays on product-market-fit and how niche fandoms get "corporatized"
But I don't think it's a mistake *pretty young women* are the sine qua non "community is ruined!" types

Consider the 'gastronomic societies' of San Sebastian, Spain, where every man is a chef, and the best chefs work in the many Michellin⭐restaurants:

For long time, it was just dudes who got together to cook, drink, and bullshit. Women were not permitted.

I must stress, these were literally kitchens where women were not allowed.

The exact, complete, total opposite of "women belong in the kitchen":

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Txoko#His…
explorepartsunknown.com/san-sebastian/…

Anything cool, interesting (or dangerous), energetic, and authoritative men do, women (especially young, smart, ambitious women) want to be a part of eventually.

I will not even attempt to explain what it is like being a micro-niche internet rw e-celeb.
I think there are two basic attitudes you can have to this:

1. Crappy misogyny; "women ruin everything/just want attention"

2. Valorization of men's essential nature; "Dudes Rock"
1. does not need any explanation or further digital ink spilt

you know exactly what I mean

I think 2 (that particular phrase has become common recently, there's also "boys will be boys") gets at something fundamental about human nature/how to evaluate cultural trends:
How does culture get transmitted? In one sense, it's vertical; your first teachers are your mother and father:

Babies make very particular sounds, little more than exercising the vocal cords and mouths simultaneously beyond singular gutteral noises:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mama_and_…
What are your earliest memories? In the dim haze beyond last week, ten years ago, things fortified by pictures or home video, you might recall a blanket, a family trip. I think about my parents faces encouraging me to climb down the (very, very steep, by the way😤) stairs at home
But what are your keenest memories in youth? Your most powerful memories? I think for most of us, if these aren't traumatic (sorry to those for whom this is so), they're awkward, or maybe fondly remembered for how awkward they are; asking a girl out, a first kiss, prom, etc.
The other way culture is transmitted is horizontally, in the dance of peer groups we have from youth to young adulthood, with men and women sizing one another up for friendship and competition, in their own, charming (sometimes vicious!) ways.
For there to be genuine transmittance, you must close the loop; kids! When men have truly created something civilizationally important where there was nothing, women bless that with 'entryism'

Sorry female followers: I think this implies a certain definitiveness to 'dudes rock',
Sorry male followers; I think this also implies a certain *deserved* level of ruination to things that men do but that pretty young women are completely uninterested in (they're interested in guns and crypto in 2021 btw)

without creating reproductive opportunities, it won't last
At least, in principle. Obviously, not everyone is a reproductively healthy heterosexual man or woman, but, those are the people new humans who bear culture do come from.

The most slutty, feminist, addicted, financially/mentally unstable women I know went home during peak COVID.

They're *over it*; don't want their phones blown up, or to go 'out', hate social media. They LOVE TLOU/Walking Dead, are getting into 'simple living' & 'country things'.
They are talking about the modern world, from bars, clubs, and booze, to social media technology and being overly accessible, like Ted Kaczynski and Pentti Linkola talked about it. They are spending time with their grandparents. They are saying sex positivity was bullshit.
I dont take them at their word, because none seem to have admitted the engine of our enslavement to the technological hellscape economy was its orientation towards the career and consumer desires of liberated, unmarried, childless, sexually free women of now three generations

@mollistan @0x49fa98 @sherylsandberg I personally think that most men who marry DO indeed marry older women. Because very few women attain the age of 45 having never been married;

However, think about the year you got married vs. 2016's numbers of unmarried women in their 30s. The paradigm you lived is ending; Image
@mollistan @0x49fa98 @sherylsandberg Essentially, the extent to which women sleep around while delaying marriage for education, earning, and experiences and the number of women who do, has reached record highs

This is totally unprecedented (and a huge market for Lululemon!)

What is beginning to happen is the end; Image
@mollistan @0x49fa98 @sherylsandberg If you look back at the never marrieds graph, @mollistan , @0x49fa98 you will see that the manosphere is lying:

Women do not hit a Wall at 30 wherein the ghost of Pook or whatever whooshes into the unmarried girlboss fertility clinic and begins singing:

Most anti-natalism (particularly from TRADS!) is the position that women should get married and have children—but not waste more than even ONE day of their youth on their husband than necessary to exercise fertility.
@0x49fa98 Secular feminists emphasize that women should be banging lots of dudes, then find a nice pliant provider— @sherylsandberg of Facebook put it this way in Lean In:
@0x49fa98 @sherylsandberg Traditional Conservatives, like @DennisPrager assert that the 70% of no fault divorces initiated by women (Dennis, that's just like those 'elective abortions', btw—the woman wasn't abused in anyway, but she was...unhaaappy!) are no biggie!

Before @getswype fires me for always being on mute camera off in standup, let's talk about how Swype will enable the pseudonymous economy and Exit from legacy institutional control of your life. Image
Today when a business employs you, you are almost certainly a W-2 employee or 1099 contractor. Your real name, your emergency contacts (i.e. your spouse, your parents, your siblings), your face, phone number, home address—all of these are reported or become highly discoverable,
Furthermore, these things are now linked to you for people who are not even your employer. Anyone online who discovers this info can also find your employer with a little digging.

In the Before Times, we had phonebooks but did we have roving bands of cancellation fanatics?

The leverage the State—the one that failed on covid, the financial crisis, student debt, housing policy, infrastructure, endless foreign wars—has over you, is your life is enumerated in its currency; your labor, assets, transactions.

This is a shadow form of citizenship.
There are people from the EU who, if here on holiday for instance, can swipe their bank cards and pay US merchants dollars. There's a conversion from euros to dollars, bc the numbering systems depend on 'purchasing power parity' and govt buying and selling in FX markets.
A European who does equivalent labor for equivalent effort to an American historically has found that he does about 1.15 to 1.50x better in terms of prices. He might be significantly underpaid in total terms, though.

But his economic life, his holdings of 'wealth', are euros.

Just like #January6th the #Afghanistan withdrawal is a media-State production

On snapchat's map, or via firsthand Afghan accounts we can see Kabul is peaceful and Afghan daily life goes on—only the airport was chaotic *bc of US promises to 'evac' everyone*

similarly, on
January 6th, most of DC, and the US writ large, was just business as usual. You can go back and see your credit card activity or texts or work emails and see what you were up to, lol. Outside of a few LARPers 'saving democracy' (some in the know, some useful idiots)—calm

Simply;
No one was ever going to 'overthrow the US govt' by breaking into a random Congressional office and tossing papers around. That's now how #Insurrection works. The US is 300MM+ people over 4 MM sq miles. It has a military with nukes lol. What a totally moronic proposal!

and yet..
