In April, 14-year-old Izzuddin from Hebron was shot in the eye by Israeli forces while working at his uncle's vegetable market. The video went viral.

The rubber-coated metal bullet destroyed Izzuddin's eye and doctors were forced to remove it. No one has been held accountable.
"If I see soldiers or clashes, I stop working and go home," Izzuddin says, explaining that he's filled with fear and anxiety. "I thank God for having another eye with which to see."
Israeli military and police guidelines prohibit Israeli forces from firing rubber-coated metal bullets at children, but evidence collected by DCIP and other human rights organizations shows Israeli forces regularly directly target children with these weapons.
Since 2012, Israeli forces injured more than 3,000 Palestinian children with rubber-coated metal bullets in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, according to @UNOCHA. Many of these children live with lifelong injuries and disabilities like Izzuddin.

1/ Thread: For years, we've been exposing Israeli violations of Palestinian children's rights at the international level. That's why the Israeli government decided to criminalize our work.

Let's start in 2014. #StandWithThe6
2/ On Nakba Day in 2014, Israeli forces shot and killed 16-year-old Mohammad Abu Daher and 17-year-old Nadeem Nawara. We shared our documentation with @ForensicArchi and exposed that Israeli forces knowingly used live ammunition to kill the two boys. forensic-architecture.org/investigation/…
3/ In the summer of 2014, Israeli forces launched a 50-day military assault on Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 535 Palestinian children. Our detailed report documented killings, injuries, and other rights violations of Palestinian children. dci-palestine.org/operation_prot…

We're humbled and grateful for all the statements of solidarity and support from individuals, government officials, trade unions, civil society organizations, academics, and others over the last few days. We won't stop fighting for Palestinian children's rights. #StandWithThe6
.@amnesty and @hrw called the Israeli government's decision a "brazen attack on human rights." #StandWithThe6 amnesty.org/en/latest/news…
The @972mag editorial board quickly condemned the decision, saying this attack is "nothing less than an authoritarian move aimed at crushing Palestinians’ ability to resist their oppression." #StandWithThe6 972mag.com/editorial-pale…

Over the last few days, we've welcomed about a thousand new Twitter followers—hello! Here's a little bit about what we do to promote and protect Palestinian children's rights. #StandWithThe6 (thread)
DCIP is the only local, independent human rights organization focused solely on the rights of Palestinian children. We were founded in 1991 and are celebrating our 30th anniversary this year.
We're a member of the global @DCIsecretariat movement, which has dozens of local chapters all over the world. All member organizations commit to promoting and protecting children's rights in accordance with international law.

Thread: Israeli forces killed 16-year-old Palestinian teenager Said Yousef Mohammad Odeh on May 5, 2021. Now, his family, friends, and community are reflecting on Said's life.

His mother asks, "What did he do to justify his killing? He was just 16 years old."
Said's cousin, Munther, was shot in the back by Israeli soldiers while trying to carry Said to safety.

"We were standing here, and suddenly, the army came out from under the olive trees."
Israeli forces blocked paramedics from accessing Said after he was shot. The paramedic who finally reached him, Faiz, was surprised to see the person lying on the ground was his nephew, Said.

BREAKING: Israeli forces raided our main office in Al-Bireh today around 5 a.m., confiscating computers, laptops, and files concerning our Palestinian child detainee clients in the Israeli military courts. We were not informed of the reason for the raid.
This is the latest act by Israeli authorities to increasingly push forward a campaign to delegitimize and criminalize Palestinian civil society and human rights organizations like @DCIPalestine.
We carry out our work in a situation of armed conflict where perpetrators of war crimes and crimes
against humanity enjoy systemic impunity and Israeli forces refuse to end serious breaches
of international law or hold perpetrators accountable.
