Rare sighting: Fully grown #Leatherback male sea turtle, largest among turtle species in the world weighing close to 900 kgs, spotted close to #Kovalam coast. He was entangled in ghost net and freed by fishermen.

The discarded fishing nets, which turn as ghost nets, are responsible for the death hundreds of marine animals year on year. @CMOTamilnadu @supriyasahuias please consider bringing a policy to incentivise retrieving these nets.
