🧵LibertAryans🧵
Many have mused about the motivations behind the pro-infection herd immunity lobby, many have suggested the attitude behind this has more than a whiff of a eugenics mentality, afteral we know letting it rip hits certain communities harder than others
2/ We can't know the motivations of all those pushing this, there will be a range, but let's focus on those at the top, the rich funders, academics, policy makers and media types from elite institutions.

How much does "covid wont effect me, its other people's problem" play?
3/ In the UK the pandemic started with herd immunity fans arguing that 250k dead elderly and vulnerable was a price worth paying for everyone else to have their "freedom"

The same ppl who argued for essentially a cull then argued for letting it rip but with "focused protection"
4/without providing any meaningful plans on how the vulnerable could be protected.

Dingwall words on the necessary price to be paid by others for the sake of society are still available
5/How deep does the idea run that some lives are worth more than others?

We've certainly seen this when it comes to child covid deaths, only x "healthy" deaths has been said a lot from those who claimed they wanted no measures in schools for the sake of vulnerable students
6/ Those who argue that measures are "medical fascism" and minimise the horrors of the holocaust with their coopting of yellow badges dismiss the deaths of any who don't fit into quite a narrow definition of "healthy"

See @GYamey's tweets to understand how upsetting this can ..
7/ be to those families who suffered from Nazi atrocities, we can try to understand but we can never truly know the feelings of victimd and survivor families, so I hope I manage this thread with the sensitivity the subject deserves, because we do need to talk about eugenics
8/ As I said the important question is how many people who influence policy believe some lives are worth more than others

The UK has tried hard to not face up to its past, colonialism, dehumanisation of slavery and even the treatment of working class factory workers and the
9/ the poor laws and work houses. We also forget just how sympathetic many of the British ruling classes were towards the Nazi regime

Superiority runs deep
news.sky.com/story/nazi-ger…
10/ Lets consider disproportionate impacts of austerity and systematic changes through dismantling and privatising services

UN special report on the deliberate removal of the safety net and at least 120k austerity deaths, the DWP victims
bbc.co.uk/news/uk-483546…
11/ We have Goves education reforms which have disproportionately hit certain groups
Was involved in commissioning the independently run EPI 2019 study on off rolling using the Pupil Database
Over 50k students disappeared from education
12/ Government can't plead ignorance, they know the impact their choices will have, be it Covid or school policies

Leaked draft Ed policy doc in August 2019, noted certain groups would be disproportionately impacted by policy, they dismissed "SEND lobby"
13/ Thought it was shocking media described Tory 2019GE manifesto was described as "playing it safe" with nothing controversial, and it was just ignoring Page48's monumental rebalancing of power, there was a lot of very questionable targeted policy there
14/ Despite having non white ppl involved, UK govs report in response to events inc BLM in June 2020 finding no systematic racism faced harsh criticism from UN for playing into tropes of the inferiority of certain groups/cultures used by white supremacists
news.un.org/en/story/2021/…
15/ Its more complicated than just ethnicity and ableism, class superiority is hard wired into the UK
But how far does it permeate?
Living Marxism/Spiked crowd were allowed into education policy, Toby Young ran the gov linked New School Network and wrote this⬇️
16/ Settling up Lockdown Skeptics in April 2020, Young has been a key organiser of the coordinated skeptic movement, receiving praise from the GBDs backers the AIER who also provided funding to Spiked for culture wars
Prepandemic he was due a position overseeing Unis until ..
17/ Controversies emerged over his support for "progressive eugenics"
Worth looking at his views in the 2015 article, considering he'd been given control of a school, the New Schools Network, was lined up for the uni job
quadrant.org.au/magazine/2015/…
18/ He assumes that the UK with its class system with origins nearly a 1000 years old is in fact a meritocracy, the people at the top aren't mainly there because of nepotism, they are genetically superior and more intelligent
19/ The "cognitive elite" breeding among themselves by meeting at uni or whilst working for top firms is the cause for lack of social mobility, he quotes a former Tory Uni minister, he's not alone in these thoughts, but entrance to elite is cost of elite school fees not brains
20/ Interesting that he references his father's book about lack of social mobility leading to a coup when they join forces with dissident elites.
He references Occupy and the left but a year later he's fighting for Brexit in the referendum
21/ He suggests Universal Basic Income as a solution to disgruntled lower classes, afteral its not their fault they weren't born into the cognitive elite, but raising taxes on the rich wouldn't be popular with Conservative voters. The inequality isn't structural its genetic.
22/Progressive Eugenics he says is better, the feckless poor need improving, criminality is inherited...
Well there does appear to be a lot of criminality in the upper strata of UK society, just of a different type
23/ This is positive discrimination towards disadvantaged groups, because he argues that this isn't about "improving the genetic stock of the entire race, just the least well off"

He thinks hes being benevolent towards those who are genetically inferior
24/ But these are just the thoughts of Toby Young I expect some will argue...

2016 Fraser Nelson writes"Eugenics is back" where he says that there is a whole body of academics on genetics with a modern attitude to eugenics

spectator.co.uk/article/the-re…
25/ Britain is apparently at the forefront as we look to solve the problem of the "employment resistant"

Forget deindustrialisation, the banking big bang, weakening of unions and increasingly unequal distribution of the profits of labour, its inherited...
Its about reducing the "burden on more functional citizens", in the circles he moves it seems eugenics might be a bad word "but the idea is not" when we have a chance "to improve the human stock" by "screening out personality flaws"
27/ Because the rich don't suffer from alcohol problems or undesirable personality flaws ... like greed?
28/ So Young and Nelson appear to think the idea of genetic superiority/inferiority by class is a fairly common view.
Then we had Sabisky appointment in 2020 as pandemic was just getting underway with comments about racial inferiority
29/ The NewStatesman came out in Sabiskys defence

Once again its said that apparently eugenics is pretty fashionable among parts of the rights, the writer thinks there is some truth to it
30/ Argues that Sabisky had put out a few silly tweets, and that they weren't relevant
31/ Sabiskys views are largely typical of the young thinking right, and the writer sees the real issue with the whole issue is if Cummings would be able to properly reform the civil service to allow more inventive thinkers into government
32/ If these views are commonly held on the right that would explain why so many RW commentators were quick to defend Young, Sabisky and Cummings ( more on him later) in regards to their eugenics comments
33/ The arguements made by some that Sabisky made a few historical comments also falls apart with brief inspection
34/ So it does appear that eugenics, genetic superiority/inferiority is a view thats shared in RW circles, enough for UCL to have held a series of secret eugenics conferences, the extent of which we dont know as the resulting inquiry was inadequate

theguardian.com/education/2020…
35/ No suprise Young has been in attendance, also appears its not just a UK issue as a Canadian conference is mentioned. These are invite only events, who does the invites?

theguardian.com/education/2020…
36/ 🧵LibertAryans Part II🧵
We see the sense of superiority in arguments made recently, banning 2nd jobs will "put off people of quality"
As for masks not being needed in the commons because MPs are collegiate, suggests an attitude that covid is an issue for other ppl not them
37/ Ed Select Committee, Caroline Johnson arguing against 12-15 vax after quoting HART disinformation on risks asked
what benefit vax was for white middle class kids in rural areas, why don't we just vax non white kids and the socioeconomicly deprived?
38/ I think this shows a core mentality at play, they believe covid isn't an issue for white middle classes, so why should they be inconvenienced for the benefit of minority groups and the disadvantaged?
39/ Was very different when they thought vaccine hesitancy in non white groups might be getting in the way of "freedom day" then they were wringing hands about what could be done to increase uptake,it wasnt about protect others lives, it was about removing inconvenience to theirs
40/ Day after UKs 1st lockdown, Guptas first "herd immunity pretty much here, no 2nd wave" non peer reviewed paper was released, her coauthor has made some interesting comments in the past

41/ Guibilini is also involved in the new Journal of Controversial Ideas that allows academics to write anonymous articles, marketed as an anti cancel culture journal, first edition seems to be a bit culture war-ish,
wonkhe.com/blogs/i-read-e…
42/ Contrarian political commentators I was used to, but pandemic has opened my eyes to Contrarian scientists, they complain about freedom of speech from large platforms, when what they want is freedom of consequence
43/ The motivation behind the JoCI reminds me of the Institute of Scientific Freedom set up just before the pandemic

Founders reasoning is here but disagreement over HPV vax harms was a factor
madinamerica.com/2018/12/instit…
44/ Interesting that some of the main minimisers like Henghan and Ioannidis are on the advisory board
45/ Institute for Scientific Freedom is led by Gotzsche, staff include Allison Pollock and Thacker who has been behind the stories casting doubt on Pfizer (there were issues in Texts lab but this doesn't change real world data)

scientificfreedom.dk/staff/
46/ For an Institution that is very vocal of its independence of big pharma its very quiet about its own billionaire backers, which appears to lead to Koch

47/ Koch backed AIER was behind the GBD, which recieved PR from the Koch backed Emergent Order, and while its stated strategy was "focused protection" the reality of letting it rip will have disproportionately hit other groups
Practically a eugenics policy
48/ Month before GBD we had a letter to UK government calling for a herd immunity let it rip policy. Who was involved?

Also published in the Spectator, where Young, and Nelson wrote about eugenics
bylinetimes.com/2020/09/23/sca…
49/ At the same time Sunak had a meeting with the same ppl, plus Tegnell the architect of Sweden's approach, held in secret, attendance is known but there are no minutes and the consequence was mass death in the Alpha
50/ Alongside those now involved in Collateral Global, Tegnell has been one of the key emissaries of the herd immunity strategy, seeking to influence governments around the world.
51/ Now onto Cummings, he was Goves advisor for the DfE reforms, when Young was allowed into education, Sabisky was his "wierdo" appointment and Cummings has his own controversial views about genetics
52/ While everyone was been focused on the Pandemic, Cummings was busy creating a whole new genetics infrastructure tied into the NHS but run by private companies of dubious ethics

53/ On side note Clare Craig of HART, Pandata, C19Assembly, PCRclaims etc was working for Genomics England pre pandemic, not certain how it links into the new organisations (rolled into structures maybe) needs more investigating when there's time
53/ Considering Cummings previous comments, you have to wonder if eugenics views are influencing the long term work/goals of this infrastructure
54/ Questions have been raised if those involved in this new genetics infrastructure were asked to model herd immunity at the start of the pandemic
Was it a case of "computer says cull"?
55/ As Palantir enters this story, its worth noting a trip to Silicon Valley seems to have influenced Cummings big project
56/ Peter Thiel and his Palantir company are not who you want to be controlling your data, but its too late, they got the Genome UK contract without a tendering process
57/ Amnesty International have been warning about Palantirs attitude to human rights

And Thiel isn't the only one in Silicon Valley with a fixation on the mass gatherings of people's genetic data.

58/ Thiels organisations are now deeply imbedded into the data infrastructure of the UK and the US, he was part of Trumps transition team, he's also a key person on thr Facebook advisory board
59/ So who is Peter Thiel?
Link is a review of a book on him

Associates
Bannon, Trump (part of the transition team) Mercers (financial backing for Vote Leave) Zuckerberg

And Yarvin
nytimes.com/2021/09/21/boo…
60/ Hes also the financial backer of Clearview, another deeply questionable use of data

wagatwe.com/blog/clearview…
61/ If knowledge is power, and big data is one of the most powerful resources of the digital age, how do you feel about Thiel gathering this much power in backroom deals?
62/ Thiel isn't a typical alt-right libertarian, he seems more aligned to a movement known as the Dark Enlightenment that's grown out of a fringe in Silicon Valley
63/ So what is the Dark Enlightenment?
qz.com/1007144/the-ne…
64/ They consider themselves better than the standard alt right (bit like Cummings)
65/ While it sounds like fascism, they claim its more a form of super capitalism. Either way, its openly anti-democratic, the super rich tech masters shouldnt be accountable to anyone (superiority), the alt-right seen as a tool to destroying democracy, they are pro dictator
66/ The ideas of Land (British) who produced the Dark Enlightenment manifesto might seem like dismisable nonsense, however when those signing up to his philosophy are rich, well connected and seemingly unaccountable I think we have to worry
67/ Thiel is currently working to remove those Republics who didn't stand with Trump after Capitol Hill, which does suggest he's happy with coups and attempts to destroy democracy and is actively working to that end
68/ Worth seeing what the Libertarian Reason magazine thinks about Thiel, they don't consider him properly one of them, but they seem to approve of his talk.of crushing enemies like the "virus of cultural marxism"

reason.com/2020/08/02/wai…
69/BTW Kulldorff of GBD has written for Reason magazine owned by Reason Foundation which is linked to free market think tanks

Who funds the foundation?
Oh look Koch

🧵@DrDjWilde making unfounded allegations again

HART were given the right to reply on multiple occasions, including several articles I've been involved in

They keep making these threats of legal action to try and silence the truth, they never follow through.

This is tactics
Behind the scenes I've worked with journalists for a fair few large broadcasters and papers, not just in the UK

The issue is there is an asymmetric battle over the truth

These grifters get platformed by friendly media to spead disinformation, can come out with almost any crap
Yet try and challenge these individuals, their links, money made/raised and its incredible how many hoops must be jumped through, how many barriers are put in the way of those who just want to report the truth.

Editors are very wary

"Just like WW2 against the M
Nazis, England stands alone as authoritarianism takes hold of europe. But we have hope, the resistance has begun with a new APPG"

As predicted the APPG will mainstream disinformation
Nawaz talks about Big Pharma lobbying, doesn't mention the new APPG is funded and resourced by Collateral Global, a disinformation group which doesn't disclose its funding, but has members linked to AIER/Koch Foundation
Nawaz has David Paton as guest who will be a special witness for the APPGs investigative hearing into pandemic response and recovery

Paton is a member of antivax conspiracy group HART,also quoted by UsForThem and MPs in Westminster Hall opposing 12-15 vax

Now an unverified annonnymous reporting form for adverse reactions, interesting bunch of characters

This is why the UK Statistics Authority wrote to the Tory Party during the 2019GE to reprimand them for claiming "more students are now in outstanding schools than in 2010"

Also reprimanded over funding claims
4 times I believe
#edutwitter
This is how UK politics works, policies are designed to produce metrics that can be lauded at elections, the reality on the ground, the impact on real lives isn't important, they just need a stat they can quote and hide behind in the face of questioning. Policies 4 slogans not ppl
Below inflation increases for education, wages and other services allowed them to claim "more money than ever before" while funding" while in real terms we saw an 8% decrease per pupil, lost 15k support staff, reduction in teaching numbers and workload increases

But they already have this power via the covid bill, they've used it several times, Greenwich and to several schools who tried to break up for half term
So @halfon4harlowMP is doing this just for UsForThem/CRG brownie points
And who is calling for school closures? People want measures like ventilation and masks

This is about reframing calls for measures as calling for lockdown,
@halfon4harlowMP
April and May 2020
Prioritise testing in schools, PPE in schools to reduce transmission, nightingale schools for social distancing

Then Tory chums put him in contact with UsForThem....

Very little media coverage of the JCVI minutes, except @DailyMailUK that decides to take a pro infecting children stance

And do so by platforming Livermore who was a member of antivax HART group.
Image
Some basic journalism would have helped

"Human shields" wasn't an Independent SAGE comment, it was a US MD who writes extensively about covid disinformation

⬇️
Article then gives a platform to people who have been constantly wrong, including GBDs Livermore, and goes on to try and create concern for 5+ vaccines Image
