If I was 20 years old again…

// a thread 🧵
I’d cut 1/2 my “friends” and spend more time with the real ones.
I’d actively look for mentors.

I was SURROUNDED by super successful people, multi millionaires.

(you are too...they're all over Twitter)
I’d look for more opportunities to help people.

(I start my day praying for this)
I’d study investing and then I’d start investing 50% of my paycheck.

I’d learn to live on half.

I’d make investments automatic so I never saw the money.
I wouldn’t take on bad debt. None.
I’d start another stream of income before I turned 21.

Doesn’t matter. Lawn mowing. Reselling. Something.

Anything.

Weekends. Evenings. Mornings.
I’d stop buying stupid shit. Clothes. Watches. Alcohol.

This is what I'd do.

If I wanted to buy something I didn't "need", I'd take that amount and I'd invest it.

• Index fund
• Apple stock
• Crypto

It almost doesn't matter.

Do this and thank me when you're 55.
I’d stop drinking and going to parties. An incredible waste of time.
I’d spend more time having real conversations with my parents. I’d be more patient and more kind to them.

I was an asshole at 20.
I’d study writing. I’d study storytelling. Then I’d start.

I’d start by journaling and daily brainstorming.

If you can write, you open hundreds of doors of opportunity.

(DM me for the journal prompts I use every morning)
I’d stop eating so much crap.

Less pizza and fried foods. More steak, chicken and protein.

I’d 100% quit processed sugar.
I’d start lifting weights 3-4 days a week. I’d walk, run or bike 5 days a week.

Build good habits now. You'll appreciate it when you're older.
I’d be more picky about the girls I dated. There’s no hurry.

I’d work on myself first.
I’d travel more.

I’m from the US. There is so much to see and experience without leaving the country.

Before you die, visit:

• The Grand Canyon
• The Golden Gate Bridge
• Yosemite National Park
• New York Times Square
• Yellowstone National Park
I’d start meditating.

Study the benefits. 10 minutes a day is enough.
I’d actively seek God.

I’d read the entire Bible before I turned 21.

I’d question everything.
Personally, I wouldn’t have gone to college.

If I could go back, I'd invest that money instead.

I’d invest in myself and I’d invest in the stock market. I’d consider a trade school.

If you want to be a doctor or lawyer or teacher...because you love it...go to school.
I’m 55 years old. It took me decades to figure all that out.

Don’t do that.

You can completely reinvent yourself in 90 days. You can be unrecognizable.
Quick summary:

Make some hard decisions.
Take more shots.
Build tiny habits.
Be consistent.
Put in the reps. (It’s all about the reps.)

5 Ways Twitter Changed My Life...

// a thread 🧵
1. I found Money Twitter on accident at the end of 2020.

I followed an account that tweeted about the stock market,

which led to another that tweeted about index funds,

which led to another that tweeted about Bitcoin.

I couldn't get enough.
I bought Gumroad courses, read books and watched YouTube videos. I was hooked.

Then.

On January 14, OF THIS YEAR, I purchased my first stocks! I felt like Warren Buffet! (minus about 104 Billion).

I'm 55 years old. If I can do it, you can do it.

// a thread
I'm 55 years old and didn't fully understand this life hack until earlier this year.

I sleep better
I feel better
I look younger

There are no other life hacks. This is the only one.
Is sleep really that important?

The problems you think you have, some people are praying for.

// a thread 🧵
I pray every day that God would send someone to our gate who we can help.

Last week, God sent Carlos.
Carlos is 23 and has had epileptic seizures most of his life.

He explained that they started to get worse six months ago. He now has 20 seizures a month.

How to know if she's THE ONE?

Very few people know right away if someone is the right one. It takes time.

This is what I would tell my sons:
Make a list of qualities your looking for in a wife. It could be 5 or 50. Rank them in order of importance to you.

Know what you're looking for.
Don't share your list with anyone. You'll be judged.

The BIGGEST time suck that everyone does. Including you.

// a thread🧵 (and a story about Bitcoin)
It's midnight and you're halfway through the newly released Netflix series Squid Game.

You pause long enough to negotiate with yourself.

"Just one more episode. I've pulled all nighters before. Hell, I practically majored in them in college!"
One episode turns into two and before you know it, you're like a coke addict coming off a 7 day binge.

It's 5:30am, your eyes are bleeding and your work alarm is about to go off.

"DAMN. I'm screwed."

Love is a choice.
Love is a verb.
