This 7-Step Cold Email Framework Helped 3,000 People Close Clients Online

//THREAD//
Step #1 - Your persona

You need to understand who your customers are.

This applies despite whether:

>they are new customers
>they are customers who already know you

I wrote a thread on this but basically:
1. Who are your current customers? Target them
2. What are their industries? Do research before reaching out
3. Target decision makers
4. What are they currently paying for?

These will save you months of pain
Step #2 - Get their contact info

There are two ways to get someone's email:

1) Scrape it yourself (a great course for this is @blackhatwizardd's Cold Email Mastery)

2) Use software to do it for you (like my company Uplead.com)

3) If you can get an intro, better
Step #3 - Build rapport before you reach out.

This is something I do that most others don't

Usually, I'll get on LinkedIn to 'check them out' first.
So, I'll go to LinkedIn and engage with them.

I build the rapport so they know me + my name before I reach out.

This simple step will put you miles ahead of everyone else cold emailing your prospect...

Trust me.
Step #4 - Writing the email

It's no secret:

There's a lot of strategies for writing cold emails.

Many of them work, many of them don't.

My favorite method?

The reply method by Jason Bay:
Step #5 - Subject line

There are also a lot of cold email subject lines that people use...

...but most of them are played out by now.

Here are two general tips:

1)The simpler, the better

2)Personalization works well
And here are two subject lines I really like (and have found to get opens):

>"Quick question"

>"Hey, first name"
Step #6 - The actual email

Personalize!

The email you send must be different from everyone else's.

Say something unique about the recipient.

Congratulate them on a W.

Say how their content helped you.

(this will boost your reply rate)
Also,

Your email should answer these questions:

>who are you?
>how did you find them? (add personalization)
>why are you reaching out?
>what are you offering?

(each of these parts should be to 1-2 sentences MAX)

And also include:

>testimonials
>a clear CTA
A reminder:

Your cold email doesn't sell the service...

Your cold email sells the call.

So, a clear CTA - asking for a call - must be present.

NOTE:

The CTA doesn't always have to be for a call.
Also, follow-ups are key.

If you send a cold email but don't follow up?

Your campaigns won't succeed.

You should have *at least* 3 to 5 follow-ups.

(you might get 4 ghosted emails but the 5th one secures a $10k deal - you never know until you follow up)
Step #7 - Edit and test

You can:

>use platforms to check your emails for spam words

>make sure you don't have issues with your domain setup.

This is important...

One small error can ruin your entire campaign performance.
And for a final tip:

Use a separate domain for your cold emails.

This will protect your main domain in case you get marked as spam!

I’ve had dozens of SaaS ideas throughout my business journey, but I don’t have the time to execute on them.

So here’s a gift.

Idea 1:

Problem: It's hard to pay employees in other countries

Solution: A SaaS payroll to pay remote employees in any country

Imagine paying W-2 employees remotely in 40 countries...
Not easy at all.

We need a SaaS that lets you pay someone as an employee, not independent contractors

How I went from going bankrupt in the real estate crisis to building an 8 figure SaaS business.

A story thread on how to win in any market:
The story starts in the mid-2000s.

I was in real estate,

Specifically n the mortgage industry.

At this time - real estate was booming.

Everyone was purchasing and refinancing their home. Money was everywhere and I was young, dumb + naive.

I thought it would last forever.
I was doing pretty well and looking for ways to start investing & growing my net worth.

>Property values were going crazy
>I didn't know about stocks
>All the investments I knew were real estate (crypto didn't exist back then)

Plus,

I had some friends in real estate.

#1 Twitter personal brands

...why do you think I've been putting so much effort on Twitter?

It's a fantastic place filled with thought leaders, business people, entrepreneurs, freelancers, etc.

These people need your SaaS - use Twitter to get in front of them.
#2 Cold email

Cold email is one of the best ways to get traffic.

You can directly contact the exact people your SaaS is meant for - so start sending cold emails!

#3 Cold calling

Yes, cold calling works.

Similar to cold email,

Use it to directly contact your target market.
