🏴 27 y.o. Rashelle Baird from Brechin #Scotland passed away from COVID on Nov 19, 2021 - one year after her uncle died from the virus. The mother-of-three put off getting vaccinated because she was busy caring for her young children #SoulsLostToCovidnews.sky.com/story/covid-19…
"In hindsight, I would go back and kick her backside (to get the vaccine) - and say 'you've got three wee kids'," said her father
"It's absolutely crazy not getting vaccinated," he added.
"Fines, I think, is the way to go because people don't want to pay a fine. They don't want to be hit with a £1,000 fine," said her father
"How are they going to pay that? Well, you should have been vaccinated."
Mr Baird, who is a delivery driver, said he is now "scared to go outside" as he called for tougher rules on the wearing of face masks.
"It's infuriating when you go in the supermarket and you see a lot of people walking about, no masks, not giving a damn, thinking 'we're invincible'," he said.
"COVID can hit you so fast.

28 y.o. Kodie Edler from Findlay #Ohio was young & healthy. He intended to get vaccinated, but hadn't gotten around to it. He tested positive for COVID on 7/10. By 8/3, he was on ECMO and on 8/24, his only option for survival was a lung transplant. #TheySurvivedCovid
Edler has no memory of the 2½ months of his life when Corroto and countless others worked frantically to keep him alive.
The 28-year-old awoke sore and uncomfortable, unable to talk. Beneath his gown he’d discover a mustache-shaped incision, stretching armpit to armpit, where surgeons had opened him to remove a pair of lungs ravaged by COVID-19.
29 y.o. Justin Kerby from New Albany #Ohio passed away from COVID on Nov 23, 2021 - 8 weeks after he was married to his wife Paige. Justin had an MBA & was compassionate, giving, loving & all around kind person. He will be dearly missed. #SoulsLostToCovidfacebook.com/alanna.sturgil…
His sister Alanna wrote: "I hope no one else has to go through the heartbreak of losing a loved one due to this awful disease. It’s easy to think “oh it will never happen to me” until it does and it’s too late."
"Justin was a young healthy 29 year old man with no underlying conditions. This defies everything we’ve been told up to this point on who it effects the most"
🇧🇷 32 y.o. Camila Rosa from Jundiaí, São Paulo #Brazil was pregnant with twins when she became ill with COVID. Her twins Miguel and Alicia survived, but mom passed away November 22, 2021. #SoulsLostToCoviditupevaagora.com.br/2021/11/jundia…
Translated: "Beloved niece, watching you leave is beyond my understanding. They say that speech is what differentiates us from animals. And we are so arrogant, always ready to speak and give an opinion about everything. But the pain silences us"
"Goodbye, beloved Camila . I will miss your warm laughter, your infectious smile, your joy," wrote an aunt.
6 y.o. Caden Joseph Quigley from Ann Arbor #Michigan passed away from COVID on Nov 18, 2021. He was born with hydrocephalus and spina bifida which made him more susceptible to the virus. #SoulsLostToCovidfacebook.com/groups/4379000…
His mom wrote, "He wasn't eligible for a lung transplant from all his chronic illnesses he had & wouldn't have survived even through it."
"We decided to take the ventilator out as I thought he was just suffering & could see it in his eyes & have Caden surrounded by Family & let him pass peacefully & as painless as we could"
11 y.o. Johnathon Abrams was on life support at Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi #Texas from multisystem inflammatory syndrome due to COVID. He's now in a rehab center in Houston still unable to walk. #TheySurvivedCovidgofundme.com/f/help-the-abr…
His mother journals her son's heartbreaking hospitalization on the GoFundMe page. I've attached two entries.
Nov. 16: Johnathon is now in Houston at a rehabilitation facility to try and get his strength back. He is still unable to walk but he can move his arms more and his legs just slightly. The wound on his butt has gotten worse and is down to the bone.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that Europe remains “in the firm grip” of the coronavirus pandemic and the continent’s death toll could top 2.2 million this winter if current trends continue. aljazeera.com/news/2021/11/2…
Another 700,000 Europeans could die by March 1, the WHO said on Tuesday, in addition to the 1.5 million who have already succumbed to the virus.
Total deaths now exceed 1.5 million in the WHO European region, which covers Europe as well as several countries that straddle Asia or the Middle East, such as Russia and Turkey.
