At 6:54pm, the operator of OR/Vienna train 901 reported smoke on or near the lead car of their train at Dunn Loring. The train was offloaded w/i 2 minutes of the initial report and FD was called w/i 3 minutes. #WMATA
Update/correx: while #WMATA radio reported that FD was called/en-route 3 minutes after the initial call, the FFX box alarm dispatch occurred 10 minutes after the initial smoke report at 7:04pm.
#wmata Red Line trains continue running every 12, Yellow/Green every 20, Orange/Silver/Blue every 30.
At the moment, per MetroHero there are 0 8-car trains operating on #wmata Metrorail. There were a couple last week on the Blue Line for events at Arlington Cemetery and a couple others floating around, but none today (at least not right now).
A #wmata rail supervisor is onboard, YL/Huntington train 301 (disabled south of L'Enfant). A railcar mechanic had been dispatched to meet the train at Pentagon, but it obviously isn't there yet.
Yellow Line update:
Disabled YL/Huntington train 301/701 is going to be coupled up to non-revenue train 820 from behind and either pulled back to L'Enfant or pushed to Pentagon so passengers can get off prior to the train being taken to a rail yard. #wmata
The operator of RD/Glenmont train 104 approaching White Flint reports they're being delayed due to a deer on the tracks. #wmata
White Flint switcheroo:
The train @ White Flint on the Glenmont-bound track will be heading back to Twinbrook; the train @ White Flint on the Twinbrook track will be heading to Glenmont via downtown.
Remember, when MWAA says SV II has hit Substantial Completion, that doesn't mean the track and signals is automatically now owned by #wmata - the agency will need to verify it meets what they expect and then decide whether or not to accept it and/or with what conditions.
"Metro will not take ownership before the rail yard is complete" #wmata
