And there is a meeting this Thursday at noon with @ArizonaIRC w/Arizona State Legislature Leaders RE: Reports or Memorial submissions. Interesting that Chair @ErikaNeuberg did not mention it at today's business meeting. So odd. Here is the agenda.

Chair Watchman is chairing the hearing tonight. @ErikaNeuberg is in Pinetop w/ the Chair; Com. Mehl is virtual. Audio is troubled. Neither locale looks to be overflowing.

White Mountain Apache Chairwoman Gwendena Lee asks that neighbors in ShowLow, Pinetop are not cut out of the district as they are now int eh current draft plans.

Aubrey Adey - White Mountain Apache council member - reiterates need for Am Indian opportunity district in both legislative and congressional plans - asks for similar districts to current LD 7 and CD 2.

White Mountain Apache Tribal AG - asks for opportunity district. Less than 60% CVAP could dilute our voice - and our neighboring towns are connected with tribal communities. We live and work there. We are a strong economic driver in the area.

Kasey Duma - WMAT and resident of Pinetop- VRA and ability to secure a Native Am. opportunity district is called for. Look at historical disenfranchisement of voting power of Native Americans. Current efforts to dilute our voice.

Eric from Pine Top - an equal number of non-competitive districts is not the same thing as competitive districts as called for in AZ Constitution. Assurances that Native American will be "OK" because they are 22% of the district are not credible.

Eric calls for CocoCounty plan

Competitive and Fairness is what voters voted for in 2000. CD 1 its currently competitive - and Native Americans can make the difference. The draft CD is not competitive and would not be responsive to the Am. Indian.

Speaker Supports the @NNHRC1 district. Why try if you know you will lose, or surely win. Supports CocoCounty maps.

Jodi Iman - PineTop resident - was a teacher here and ShowLow - relation between WMAT serves us all - asks that @ArizonaIRC accept @NNHRC1 and CoCoCounty maps. CDf010 Keep the line to current boundaries.

Missa Foy - Concerned about CD draft maps - turned a highly competitive district into a partisan district. Doesn't have to be this way. Ina district as large and diverse as CD 2 - competitive is critical. better to connect w/ Graham and Greenlee; not Prescott.

Virginia - these draft maps violate my COI - we are not in the copper corridor... CD2 and LD 7 reach across the state unite us w/ Prescott and Eastern Yavapai county where extreme nationalism has taken hold.

CDF010/ @NNHRC1 solve these problems and Also CocoCounty maps...

Supervisor Darrell Seamore - former ShowLow Mayor - says no matter where you draw the lines, you'll create concerns. White Mountain Apache Tribe and Navajo Nation have differing values. You can do better than what you have done so far.

Now over to Avondale: Dan Schwartz - From a 10K ft level the lD is kind-of competitive - long time resident of Scottsdale; cyclist - canal and bike paths - Camelback Mntn. - Camelback COI - LD 4 is roughly like this -- Move N boundary south for pop adjustment

MFV - proposed district 25 - Add more of Avondale to LD 25 and make changes to keep growing urban areas - Litchfield Park. Supports maps submitted by Latino Coalition for Fair Redistricting.

Martino from Glendale -- suggests boundary adjustment to either LD 26 or 24 along the Agua Fria - needs strong representation to support low income communities. Current proposed district lines separate 7 schools into 3 districts. Loop 303 is different that loop 101.

Clair - suggests NW of 303 and Vistancia Dusty Trail precinct - move back to LD 29 and place in El Mirage which is growing south. E Pluribus Unum -- we are supposed to learn to work together

Alexis Garcia 0 organizer with ACE - LD 30 (?) is one of the poorest LD is the state. IN CD - we do not belong w/ Peoria -- it will impact funding for social services. Also studying at Glendale Community College.
