“We honour those whose lives have been cut short and reaffirm our commitment to a scientific community that has worked tirelessly against this disease.”
#PrinceHarry: “It’s striking to now see the world’s leading AIDS activists are also leading the call for #COVID19 vaccine equity.Vaccinating the world is a test of our moral character & we’re experiencing a spectacular failure when it comes to global #VaccineEquity” #WorldAIDSDay
“Similar to the AIDS crisis, we’ve yet again revealed over the past year, that the value of life depends on whether you were born and/or live in a rich nation, or a developing country.”
- #PrinceHarry
#PrinceHarry’s letter was read by Dr. Meg Doherty, the @WHO’s Director of Globale HIV, Hepatitis & STIs. #WorldAIDSDay
“My mother would be deeply grateful for everything you stand for and have accomplished. We all share that gratitude, so thank you.”
#PrinceHarry: “It’s time to draw from the lessons we learned throughout the HIV/AIDS pandemic, where millions died unnecessarily due to deep inequities in access to treatment. Are we really comfortable repeating the failures of the past?” #WorldAIDSDay

A review of The Royal Foundation (TRF) 2023 annual report shows that the #Together cookbook, Meghan Markle’s Empowering Communities project with the Hubb Community Kitchen had sales income of £84,540. In total, Together has raised £911K ($1.2M) & funded £799 ($1.1M) in grants.
Meghan Markle’s 1st royal project from 2018 had more income in 2023 than The Royal Foundation’s Mental Health & Emergency Responders programs and funded more grants than the Early Years & Emergency Responders. She hasn’t been a TRF patron since 2019 or a working royal since 2020.
The Together cookbook is still available for sale and Meghan Markle has designated that all future proceeds go to UK charity @felixprojectuk which distributes surplus food. bookshop.org/p/books/togeth…
Let’s play housing roulette…In 2018 Harry & Meghan were criticized for moving to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor instead of Apartment 1 in Kensington Palace as many expected. Their rationale was that they loved Windsor, FC was empty & could be renovated more cheaply & quickly. 🧵
In 2020 when they stepped back from royal duties, they paid back the £2.4M in taxpayer funds for the structural renovation which was in addition to the fixtures & finishes they’d personally paid for. They also prepaid an unspecified amount of advance rent.+reuters.com/article/uk-bri…
Frogmore Cottage is a Crown Estate property that Harry & Meghan had been gifted the use of by QEII. In 2023, King Charles evicted them from the home & has offered it to Prince Andrew. The once derelict property is now considered “a greatly enhanced asset.”+uk.news.yahoo.com/inflation-hits…
Lots of commentary on Archewell Audio/Productions in the aftermath of the end of the Spotify deal. Some of it’s more constructive than others, but approaching the 3 yr anniversary of signing their Netflix deal the temperature check is warranted. Here’s what I’ve been reading: 🧵
In recent years, “the intrigue around them has been what’s deeply personal. They’ve shared their story, on Netflix in the documentary & also in Harry’s book. It’s imperative for them to build a new narrative. But whether or not we let them is another story”laineygossip.com/can-prince-har…
“To be celebrities, they’re expected to give something of themselves to the world…Nobody is entitled to them, of course…& many of the savviest celebrities navigate this ecosystem without revealing anything they don’t want to”pajiba.com/celebrities_ar…
“Meghan is a very interesting, very clear thinking woman. I’ve got a lot of time for her…I don’t know why [the media] just wanted to build her up into a negative figure which she’s not. She’s an intelligent, thoughtful woman…I absolutely think there’s a racial component to it.”
#JeremyCorbyn talks about his discussions with #HarryAndMeghan on mental health & how knowledgeable they were about the stressors & necessary support. Corbyn shares his own views on the lack of resources for military personnel. Link to full interview.
In 2020, Corbyn & his wife Laura Alvarez “privately offered sympathy for the duchess’s treatment at the hands of the tabloid press” and gave #HarryAndMeghan a book of verse by 17th century Mexican poet Juana Inés de la Cruz. The Sussexes responded with a personal note of thanks.
Running this mini-thread back. I called it pretty well but BP didn’t issue a summary of process improvements which would be them doing the bare minimum. The absolute minimum was doing nothing at all just as they did after announcing they were considering hiring a diversity tsar.
For those questioning why Meghan doesn’t sue for defamation, there are no concrete allegations of actions she took that would substantiate bullying. The allegations are purposely nebulous & consist purely of anonymous staffers feelings w/out attributing them to Meghan’s actions.
As TOD is learning, u can’t sue ppl over their feelings. The most compelling example was a staffer who said that she was scared when Meghan didn’t immediately call her back. So she was scared by an action Meghan didn’t take. There’s not enough detail to refute much less sue over.
Everyone references Christopher Geidt being sacked from BP but few consider the staff turnover at KP that happened concurrently in 2017/2018. They brought in new Private Secretaries for William, Kate, & Harry within months of Harry & Meghan’s engagement announcement. 1/
That level of turnover in senior mgmt creates a leadership vacuum in any organization. This was also just as William & Kate moved to London to take on full-time royal duties. Add in Meghan’s introduction as a senior principal in the KP household & it was a recipe for disaster. 2/
Egos, insecurities, cultural differences, & inexperience all culminated in an epic power play w/in the royal household. Will & Kate solidified their place in the line of succession. Harry & Meghan left royal life & by 2020 so had the KP courtiers who put their exit in motion. 3/
