@CPC_HQ What is unacceptable are the mandatory minimum sentencing laws enacted by your party when last in government. Laws which perpetuate the grossly disproportionate representation of Indigenous and people of colour in our prisons. 1/
@CPC_HQ You don't care about victims of gun violence. If you did you wouldn't be so cosy with the firearm lobby. This is about mandatory minimum sentencing and the ability of judges to do their jobs without parliamentary interference of influence. 2/

@CPC_HQ As much as you would like people to think that the LPC is "soft on crime", the truth is you are happy to see BIPOC and people of lower economic status, people with mental health issues, addictions, etc, locked up for as long as possible. 4/
@CPC_HQ Why did your government bring in mandatory minimum sentencing? Was it red meat for your base who enjoy the idea of "criminals" being punished? Were you courting a deal with for-profit prisons and getting the population up for that? Was it both? 5/
@CPC_HQ The CPC has a lot of nerve, treating Canadians like idiots, trying to use obviously misleading out-of-context quotes to vilify a government that is trying to improve society. Mandatory minimum sentences are discriminatory and they need to go. 6/6
