A friend launched a product.
Spent $500. Got no sales.

Had one call with me.

He then raised the price of the product.

Launched again.
Spent $50. Got 3 sales.

Now he’s getting $4 for every dollar he spends.

Here’s what I told him on the call.

>>> A Thread 🧵 <<<
ALL my real-life friends do online marketing in one form or another.

Most make 5 figures in profit minimum.

Except for one…
He could never make himself start.

And when he called me…
I was excited to the roof.

But…
His sales page didn’t sell.

And he needed my help.
He was in the spirituality niche.

Selling a $47 product.
Or…

Not selling a $47 product :)

I asked him to send me his page.
He did.
I carefully read through it…

And calmly told him to throw it in the garbage.

It was bad.
But he didn’t accept my suggestion:
He insisted.

“George. If you’re so good… tell me what to improve. Not that it’s no good”.

This was a challenge for me.
Because I see it as a lot easier to build a new page…

Rather than improve one that sucks.

But I accepted the challenge.

Here’s what I told him:
You have three problems:

1. You didn’t define your audience.
2. There’s no transformation story.
3. Your offer is structured wrong.

And I told him that if he fixes that… he can double the price and still make a ton of sales.

He went to work after I gave him a few pointers.
Here’s what he did.

1. Instead of selling to everyone - he defined the awareness level of his audience…

And used ONE benefit.
To ONE potential reader.
With ONE offer.

It was previously 3 benefits and a general audience.

Then… based on that… he did number 2:
2. He built a story.

A story that starts when he was where his potential reader is now.

(Remember awareness level?)

That story went on to tell how he discovered spirituality.

And ONE thing it has changed in his life.

Telling the reader it would help him do the same.

Now…
His offer was a mess.

It sold 2 lessons.
That’s all.

I explained to him that he can decide how to frame things.

So he framed it not as 2 lessons. But as 9 hours of unique recorded content.

Then without telling me a thing… he launched it on FB ads.
This was a month ago.

He didn’t tell me.
But I decided to call him… thinking he quit… again…

Only to find out that he’s profitable AF. And he raised the price to $127.

He’s now building 4 more products.

Now here’s my message to you:
One call with someone who knows how to do what you want to do?

Can literally transform your life.

If you don’t know anyone who would do it for free…

PAY.

You’ll get endless value from one 30-min call.

Can’t stress this enough.

How do you write a high-converting sales page that prints money?

The number one thing you need to know before building one…

Is structure.

The last one I built sold $600,000.

Here’s the structure I used:

>>> A thread 🧵 <<<
Let’s start with a disclaimer.

There are many ways to build sales pages.

And I use more than one.
It depends on many variables.

But I wanna share the general idea with you.

You can use this structure for anything with little tweaks:
We start with a headline.
AKA a hook.

The big idea?

Make a bold promise that creates desire to read WITHOUT giving away everything.

AKA creating curiosity.

This is where you should spend most of your time.

A good hook is the most important part.

I got married 4 months ago.

Our wedding planner made the PERFECT wedding for us.

So I spent 30 minutes helping grow her business.

She blew up her business by 15x in a month.

Here are the 3 things I taught her that you can use for your business.

>>> A Thread 🧵 <<<
The first 5 minutes of our meeting were all about me getting to know her business.

I had to - if I was gonna give her any advice.

So I asked her several questions that would help me.

Here they are:
• Where are you getting traffic?
• Who are you targeting?
• What landing page are you sending them to?
• What does the lander look like?
• How do you capture the lead?
• How much does a lead cost?
• How many leads do you close?
• Who’s your ideal customer?

Wanna laugh?

My sales pages sold millions of dollars.

And after writing copy for 8 years?
I can tell you the secret:

Creating desire.

Here’s the step-by-step framework I use to create a desire to buy:

>>> A Thread 🧵 <<<
This works for anything.
Not only sales pages.

So here’s how it works:

You start by making a promise.
A strong promise.

A promise your audience wants to get…

And if possible…

A promise they’ve never seen before.

Then…
You show the problem.

And the better you describe the problem…

The more your reader feels like you’re talking DIRECTLY to him or her.

This is when you push some pain points…

That get your reader to FEEL.

But don’t go overboard.
There is such a thing as TOO MUCH pain. Next?

How to get your first copywriting client…

Even if:
• You’ve never been on a sales call
• You never cold DMed
• You don’t have a portfolio
• You’re not sure you’re good enough
• You don’t know what service to offer

>>> A Thread 🧵 <<<
I get this question all the time.

And although it seems complicated… the answer is actually very straightforward.

But in order to understand my answer…

You need to understand your potential client.

In order to do that?
You need to understand HOW to decide who it is.

👇
So let’s start off with WHO your potential client is when you’re just starting out.

Anyone who needs copywriting services…

But…

Ones that can be measured.
Meaning? Not “about us” pages on a website etc.

Now… what options are left?

Copywriting is nice.

But do you want copywriting on steroids?

If you do…
Forget everything you know about copywriting.

And focus on ONE thing:

>>> A Thread 🧵 <<<
Let me throw you straight into deep water with an example.

I’ll show you how to DELETE copywriting from the equation…

And generate better copy than most copywriters.

Big promise?
Let’s see.

Scenario: you’re writing for a Facebook ads agency.

What would you write? 👇
If you’re a newbie you’d write something like this:

“Get the best Facebook ads agency. We write ads that make you sell out”.

You might even smile to yourself thinking “I nailed it!” If you’re completely new.

But reality will soon hit you on your head and you will understand:
