LEMON: So what’s gonna happen now

COOPER: The Democrats will uncover even more evidence

LEMON: OK; then what

COOPER: The Democrats will uncover EVEN MORE evidence

LEMON: And then what

COOPER: They wanna take a shot at the king; they’d best not miss

LEMON: Are you saying there are eventually going to be criminal charges in an actual court of law

COOPER: No

LEMON: Will there be any tangible restrictions preventing Trump from running again

COOPER: No

LEMON: So another January 6 may happen again

COOPER: I’d say “may” is underselling it

LEMON: I gotta ask; why are they even doing this

COOPER: So history will know they tried

LEMON: Is there any way to stop Trump that does not require a collective sense of shame from the GOP

COOPER: (shakes Magic 8-Ball) Don’t Count On It

LEMON: So what are our options

COOPER: Elect a passionate, committed crusader for democracy who won’t scare the moderates away

LEMON: That sounds impossible

COOPER: Oh. Then forget the first part

LEMON: How will that help

COOPER: If you’ve been paying any attention for the last 40 years, the Democrats’ Rule No. 1 is: Do Not Scare Away the Moderates

LEMON: Can’t we scare them a little?

COOPER: No

LEMON: Maybe if we weren’t so worried about alienating moderates, we’d have more Dems aggressive enough to get things done

COOPER: Good luck getting that kind of candidate past the Electoral College. And any Congressmen will be outnumbered by wingnuts from gerrymandered farmland

LEMON: So thanks to gerrymandering & the Electoral College, Democrats don’t have a prayer of effectively fighting against the GOP propaganda campaign or legislative onslaught in any meaningful way
