Working the #Covid_19 ward again today. Patient dying on a ventilator. Young. Sad. The nurse tells me its a sad case because, when the pt could speak, they said they didnt know who to trust about the vaccine. Herein lies the problem, and the reason I am angry. MANY Americans
had already decided where they wanted to place their trust in political and societal terms. This trust was abused by people that are STILL in a position to take more lives with their words and actions, and we are doing NOTHING. As Edmund Burke said:
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do NOTHING." We are watching people die that THOUGHT they were making an informed choice because media organizations like Fox News and red state governors like DeSantis and Abbott told them THIS was the only way
Not only were they lied to, they were lied to by people that KNOW the lie is a lie. It is one thing for them to be equally misinformed, but that is not the case. Both DeSantis and Abbott have faced #Covid_19 directly, and they survived because they had protection in place. As we
already know, Fox News and the Trump administration systematically and deliberately hid information that people NEEDED to know in order to make decisions that could save them or their loved ones. So what do we do? U hold them accountable, and I'll keep trying to save the victims.
