I made $1k in my first month as a freelancer

And here's what I discovered-

Whether you're learning digital marketing, copywriting, or any high-income skill

You can get your first client in 60 days

Even if you have no portfolio or big connections on speed dial.

Here's how👇
Before we get into it...

I need you to do something.

Twitter drops the reach of this thread after 24 hours…

So many people would never find it.

Help your friends learning new skills to earn faster in 2022

By retweeting the first tweet above.

I'll wait for you…
Done now?

Thank you. You’re a good friend.

Let's now get into the thread that may change your life in the coming months.
First…

If you don't know what high-income skills are…

These are skills that business owners pay thousands of dollars for…

Because with these skills, you help them get more customers and make more money.

If you don't have any skill up your sleeve yet...
Here are some high income skills you can pick from and master in 2022 -

▪️Copywriting
▪️Web design
▪️Software development
▪️SEO
▪️Sales
▪️Email marketing
▪️Social media marketing
▪️Paid traffic
▪️Lead generation
▪️Video production
▪️Content creation
Now that we've got that down…

It's time to find clients who will get you started on your career as a skilled freelancer.
The first thing you have to do is

Change your mindset towards money.

I wasn’t born into a wealthy family…

And this affected my mindset a lot.

I never even thought I could make anything as a new freelancer…

So I kept charging low fees and working too hard.
So…

You must fix your mindset first if you're going to charge 5- or 6-figures for your work someday.

A good way to do this is by going online...

And seeing what other people with your skill earn.

Make friends who are doing better than you…

And ask questions.
This removes your pre-existing beliefs about how much you can earn using that skill.

And you'll be able to charge more as you get even better at it.
After you've done this…

You’re ready to start making money.

Follow these steps:
1. Reach out to your small network.

I realized that many people don't do this.

Instead of going online and begging people to give you a job even though you've never done anything in your life before…
Send a message to all your acquaintances, friends and family members…

Explain what you're learning, who it helps, and how it helps them.
Then...

Ask them to connect you to other people who might need your help.

Your friends may have someone who needs your help immediately…

And those who don't will put you in mind when they see someone with a business you can work with.
Also…

if you know people who own small businesses…

Reach out to them and offer to work with them for free.

Tell them to only pay you from the profits you make for them.

And if you do well…

You get a good case study for the next stage of your client acquisition.
2. Head to job boards and freelancing sites

I found my first ever client on a job site…

And we worked together for close to a year before I moved on to higher-paying clients.

Head over to Upwork and other job boards…
Clients here are looking for skills you have.

But the only problem most freelancers have in this case is that:

“They don't know how to sell their skills.”

They don't know how to communicate the value they provide to the prospects.
How do you sell your skills?
▪️Identify your prospect’s problem
▪️Determine how your skill solves this problem
▪️See what other people providing your service are doing wrong
▪️Share your unique mechanism
▪️Pitch your offer
▪️Include a guarantee
▪️Focus on the client, not yourself
3. Do cold outreach

While you send out your proposals to clients on job boards...

You should also get down to cold outreach.

This involves sending cold messages to top decision makers like CEOs and marketing heads of businesses you want to work with…
You can do this via email or social media channels.

I prefer using cold emails.

If you have an email address, you can reach out to anyone in the world “.

@blackhatwizardd has a fantastic cold email course. It's one of the best investments you can make in your business.
You can also create a LinkedIn account to reach out to business owners via DM…

Or send a DM to them here on Twitter or Facebook.

But all these platforms can become so overwhelming.

So, at the beginning…
Pick one platform where your target business owners hang out…

And send at least 20-30 messages to them every day.
Here are the basic rules for sending cold messages:

▪️Give a compliment
▪️State your offer
▪️Include social proof
▪️Put a call to action
▪️Keep it simple
▪️Keep it short
Here's an example of a cold message
This is a simple email that doesn't waste time in communicating your offer.

I advised that you get gigs from your existing network and other job sites first

Because this gives you case studies you can use as social proof in your cold outreach.
Now that you have these settled...

We can get to the final part of your client acquisition process….
4. Share on social media

Create a social media account on any platform and document your learning process.

Share things you've learned with other people…

And the results you get from clients using the above methods…

Trust me…

Business owners are lurking around.
When you start sharing your successes…

More people will reach out to you to help them get more profits.

At this stage…

You can remain fully booked and busy all year long.
To wrap things up here…

And thank you for retweeting this thread...

Here are two extra tips you'll need to get more clients as a newbie:
▪️Build a good relationship with your clients.

Be good to them.

Talk and laugh about things other than business sometimes.

And be more than willing to help them always.
When your clients have a great experience with you…

They'll easily refer you to others in their network.

And you can then get clients based entirely on referrals.
▪️Keep outreaching even when you have clients

The truth is…

Nothing is predictable…

You could have a client today and not have any tomorrow.

So you can't afford to stop reaching out to prospects.
Send out at least 20 messages every day…

And keep improving on your skill.

Remember…

The better you are at what you do…

The more you earn.
That's all for today…

Use these strategies to land your first and subsequent clients after learning a new high-income skill…

And smash your 2022 financial goals!

Design is as crucial as copy for a successful marketing campaign.

In 1959, Bill Bernbach wrote an ad for Volkswagen…

A small, ugly car brand that wanted to break into the US where people loved big muscular cars.

Here's why this ad became the greatest ad of the 20th century👇 Image
When you look at this ad…

All you see is text, a huge white space, and a one tiny car picture.

It looks basic.

But the basic look contributed to the massive success of the campaign.
Before we look at the design elements that made this ad thrive…

You must know this:

If you want to catch your audience's attention…

You must do things differently than everyone else.

I've written both good and nasty sales copy…

And had my sales letters trashed and praised by A-list copywriters with $300M+ in sales.

To help you avoid my mistakes…

Here are 3 elements that will improve the quality of your sales copy👇
First...

You must know this -

Copywriting isn't about pouring words on paper immediately you get a brief.

Writing is neither the first nor most important task.
When you try to write first...

▪️You spend too much time thinking of what to write, and
▪️You end up with copy that makes no sales.

So…

You must start by understanding the product and customers.

That's only when you can come up with the first element of a good sales copy…

I made $20,000 as a new copywriter on Upwork

And had an Upwork client pay me $5,000+ to write for him.

The truth is:

You can bag your first high-quality client on Upwork in a month...

Even if you live in a 3rd-world country that nobody likes.

Here's how to do it 👇
Wait…

Before you see the steps to achieving this...

Retweet the first tweet above.

Because this thread is going down in 24 hours.

I'm waiting…
Done it now?

Good

Let's get started.

The seven deadly sins:

▪️Envy
▪️Gluttony
▪️Pride
▪️Greed
▪️Lust
▪️Sloth
▪️Wrath

Are emotions all humans experience.

Now that you know this...

Let me show you

How you can use these sins to build a successful marketing campaign for your business 👇
▪️Envy

People always want the best for themselves…

And they envy others that have what they want.

Marketers can tap into this emotion by showing prospects how they can live this desirable life.

Show them how they can also achieve this transformation using your unique product
But here's the thing...

Envy may be good...

Or bad.

When people good experience good envy,

They want what other people have.

They want to have these good things for themselves...

The wrong research process will mess up your copy

Even before you write a word.

Faulty research means terrible conversions...

Waste of time… And waste of money.

You don't want this.

Use this 7-step framework to research and create an effective marketing copy 👇
Step 1: Dine with the audience

Don't start writing immediately you get a product.

Grave mistake!

You don't know how the audience feels…

The major problem they’re facing…

And how you can come into their lives with the right message.

So...
Head over to where your audience hangs out.

This could be online forums…

Just type “niche or problem + forum” in Google.

E.g Vaginismus + forum

7 formulas to help you create bullets that fascinate your readers...

Communicate your offer...

And sell the crap out of your product.

These will increase conversions on your marketing copy👇
The last time you read an interesting sales copy that compelled you to buy something...

Was it easy for you to get through the whole copy?

Was it just a long block of text that goes on and on?

“Arrghhh… Boring!”

Or wait….

Did you spot some bullet points?
If you saw bullets, you probably stopped to read through them.

Even if you were skimming before.

You wanted to see what was highlighted…

And if it will be important to you.
